I figure I missed something somewhere along the line. We are going to WDW in July and I wanted to get each of my kids a couple pins before we went, some favorite charaters and others for trading. So I was looking for Hercules pins for my DS and won an auction but when I got the pins they are plastic? I thought they were metal. They say Disney on the back so where did go wrong? Any help so I don't make the same mistake twice would be appreciated. I went on pinpics and I am pretty sure the ones I got were from Spain.

Hi Dana

welcome to the wonderful world of pin trading, ebaying and everything else associated with trading. For inexpensive pins to trade with CM's at WDW, I would visit cheappins.com. You can get some good deals there for starter pins.

As for eBay, you have to be very careful about what you are getting and from who.

Good luck!

Hey there Dana. I have seen the pins you are talking about. Disney makes the plastic type and they also make the metal cloisonne type. The latter are the pins you were thinking you were going to get but didn't. While you can trade either, the cloisonne types are more traditional and probably more tradeable, although cast members will take the plastic without question, as long as it is official disney. Have fun trading. BTW, I am a born and raised Vermonter. You are the first one I've seen on this board. Welcome!

thanks for the help and advice. I guess I will just have to be more careful in the future. The pins do say Disney on them, they just say Sedesmasa under it. I guess they really aren't plastic. I was able to find them on pinpics also which was a relief.

I am a temporary Vermonter, my husband was sent up here for work for 3 years.

thanks again!

The Sedesmasa pins are from Spain, and hopefully were rather cheap for you.
They are CM tradable in the parks. I have even traded for some. :) Anything Toy Story/Stitch or Monsters theme -- cheapness is not a problem with me! :jester: ;)
