New to this board

Hi, I just started scrapbooking and found this thread. One of my problems was finding an area to keep my stuff. I did a google search and found the work box armoire but it was expensive, so I'm going to refashion an old tv armoire that we don't use anymore. I'll take pictures as I redo it in case anyone here wants to do something similar. Today, I'll take measurements and buy a few pieces to put in it as well as buy the hardware, a couple of pieces of wood, and a slide out hinge for the table.

Thanks for the welcome! I shopped til I dropped today getting some essentials, then returning stuff, then buying more. :0 Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some work done on it. If not, then Thursday. I'll take some photos when I start.
Jennifer, we're keeping our fingers crossed for a soft opening of Hogsmeade during our trip. If there isn't one, I'll tell my husband that my daughter and me will just have to take another trip in the Fall.

Jennifer, we're keeping our fingers crossed for a soft opening of Hogsmeade during our trip. If there isn't one, I'll tell my husband that my daughter and me will just have to take another trip in the Fall.

We're going on a cruise in October. I'm still trying to talk DH into going down a day (or two?) early and going to see Harry. Can't wait to hear what you think about it!

let us know how it works for storage. Im thinking of going this route since I need somehting beter. Between the fabric, scraping stuff, photo frames, and art suplies, my guest room closet has been overrun!

You know how you start 1 project and then it builds? My scrapbooking area is in my sewing room. In this picture, you see an open hemingworth thread drawer. I have 6 stacked on top of the other. The drawers are covered in an ugly paper which tries to imitate wood. So, last night about midnight, I decided that I would paint each drawer cabinet and cover the drawer fronts with fabric. Okeedokee, I covered 3 drawers and I wasn't crazy about the pastel color of the fabric, so I bought more today. Then I went to Lowes and bought glass pulls. Of course, the pulls are narrower, so I drilled holes in the drawer to fit the handle. All was good until I discovered the handle screws are too short. My husband will cut them tonight.

I'm not finished but I did get 1 coat of paint on a drawer cabinet and recovered 1 drawer, so this is kinda sorta what it will look like:

Armoire outside and in before pictures. As y'all can see, it was my catch all for all leftover sewing stuff:

1st after picture, I covered a bulletin board in some of the new fabric and I'm gluing it to the inside right door of the armoire. The shiny little doohickies are thumbtacks that I covered with bling:

I'm having someone come in to paint the sewing room/ scrapbbooking room tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll get to cover the other 8 drawer fronts and attach the pulls. My family is coming over on Good Friday for boiled crawfish, so I won't get a lot done tomorrow because I want to buy some plants to fix up the patio.
