Hey everyone,
Although I have been a member of DIS for years now, I am really getting into photography, so I am really getting into this board. If anyone would appreciate this picture it is you all.

In July of 2003, I took my then girlfriend on an EPCOT fireworks cruise. I had a speech all planned out and got a camera to the boat driver in advance. My speech was timed to propose, and have her say yes, and have our kiss right as the show was ending with the bright white fireworks behind us. Well I proposed right there on the boat, She said YES! and we kissed, the timing could not have been more perfect for a bright fireworks backdrop. (It took like 2 months to perfect the speech to the music of illuminations) WELL... The dang boat driver forgot to put the flash up. (This was an old school film camera before the digital rebel was even created). Let me tell you that this was the best thing that could have happened, and this is truly one of my all time favorite pictures.

That's a mighty cool picture.

You know, technology might just come to the rescue here... If you can get the negative scanned at high resolution, it might just be possible to bring up a little bit of detail on you and GF without affecting the background. Negatives often capture more information than what eventually comes out in the print, but high-quality film scanners like the Nikon LS-2000 can sometimes pick up that extra info and include it in the digital file, allowing you to make a few tweaks with Photoshop.

Photoshop is a wonderful tool!

Good point about the high res scan. Actually this is scanned from a negative already, but not near the highest quality. I just wanted it for web view. As far as photoshop goes, I used it once already to adjust the horizon (there was a definate slant when he took the picture) and slanted horizons drive me CRAZY :-) Thanks for the tips!!!!!
