I have been to Disney world and the disney cruise but new to Disneyland. We will be taking the train from San Diego to Anaheim and staying 2 nights. We can't afford to stay on property, looking at a good neighbor hotel..any recommendations? Transportation to SNA from hotel? Are there any CA resident pass discount? Must see attractions? We are going early November mid week.
Thank you

I'd say if you're looking to save a little get one on Hotwire that's within walking distance. We've had some great results that way. If you want to be a little safer we've had good experiences at Hotel Menage, it's just over the interstate, but you have a walkway that's fine though maybe a bit windy. Overall it's still just as close as others.

My 20 yr old son and I are going in 25 days. :yay:

There are a bunch of hotels on Harbor blvd.
The 1400, 1500 and 1600 block of Harbor blvd. is a walk across the street from the entrance!
If you go to google maps and put in 1600 harbor blvd Anaheim
Look at the satellite view and you can see all the hotels on the map and their proximity to the entrance.

Here are some of the hotels there:
Fairfield Inn, Del Sol Inn, Desert Inn and Suites, Ramada Maingate, Castle Inn and Suites,
Best Western, Camelot Inn, Carousel Inn, Tropicana Inn, Park Vue Inn

We are staying at the Ramada Maingate. They are just finishing up construction on a new building.
I have us booked into one of the new rooms. I also priced out Del Sol Inn and found them to be very reasonable,
and alot cheaper then some of the surrounding hotels.
We were going to stay there, but I decided to stay at the Ramada so I could get Wyndham points. :-)

As far as transportation, Uber and Lyft will give you cheaper rides then taking a taxi.
Lyft is approximately $21 from Harbor blvd to SNA during non busy times.
Uber is approximately $16-$22 from Harbor Blvd to SNA.

There is also the Disneyland Resort Express bus operated by Greyline. They are $20 per adult to SNA.

We are using Primetime shuttle. (similar to Super Shuttle shared van service)
It's $15 per adult from LAX to our hotel on Harbor blvd. and $10 per adult to SNA.
(we are flying into LAX and out of SNA.)

Hope that helps!

I stay off site at Motel 6 Maingate. Its one of the more recent build Motel 6 and I have no issues staying there. There is no breakfast at Motel 6 but thats fine with me as I prefer to breakfast on the go from Starbucks when I get to the park. I use www.rideart.org/ for transport to / from Disney. Its about 10 minutes to the park, it is walkable but after a long day in the park I prefer to get a bus.

I use http://www.supershuttle.com/ for transport to and from LAX / Anaheim.
