Hello!

We have always sailed on the Magic but sailing on the Fantasy later this summer. I'm wondering about a few things and I'm hoping you all can help.

First, the ship seems so much bigger, therefore so many more passengers, does it seem more crowded? How about on Castaway Cay?

With more passengers, is it harder to get Palo reservations (brunch specifically)?

Do they still have the character breakfast like they do on the Magic?

Any other tips about the Fantasy would also be appreciated.

You may feel the increase in the number of passengers on the pool deck for the parties, or in the family pool areas.
I have not had brunch, but with the addition of Remy, some passengers will choose that over Palo.
There is not a character breakfast currently but they are testing a Disney Junior character meal, can't remember which ship. For the month long test you have to get 'reservations' for it when you board.

Yes, there are more people. I particularly felt it anytime there was something going on in the atrium. Castaway Cay - can be "crowded" or not, depending on where you end up. We spent the majority of our time on Serenity Bay and it wasn't crowded there.

No character breakfast. When the Fantasy was new they tried it, but the MDRs are too large with the tables too close together for it to logistically work, so they stopped it. Recently they tested a ticketed event Disney Jr Character breakfast. They are reviewing the input at this time, from what I understand.

We were in the same situation as you before we did the Fantasy. I felt the crowds the most at the family pool. Strangely, things I expected to be bad, like the line for the Aquaduck, weren't that bad. The family beach on CC was also a bit crowded, especially compared to going there on a classic ship after the expansion. Also, the line to get back on the ship in port can be long, but it moves very quickly.

It takes longer for everyone to get their pictures made at boarding (Make sure you get pictures taken then so the ship has your picture recognition for those times when you are just randomly photographed, such as dinner time inside the MDR).
The drill is crowded for everyone to get back to their activities afterward.
MDR's are a lot bigger with more people. I think the noise level is lower on the new ships. I think service is a bit slower due to the walking back and forth the stay do. Not bad though.
More people on deck on sea days.
More kids in line for character meets, but sometimes more characters are available at once.
Castaway Cay will be more crowded than you are used to. If you are picky about a spot, you might want to get off the ship early.
Pirate buffet will be more busy, but there are more places to sit than on the Magic.
Guest services on the last night can be more crowded.
Longer lines to get off the ship at debarkation.

You will have no problem getting Palo reservations. If you know when you want to go and the reservation site on DCL says there is no opening, locate in you Navigator where to go after you board and they will set you up. They offer beef tenderloin at brunch!!!!!!

Do they still have the character breakfast like they do on the Magic?
no

Enjoy your cruise. Take a walk on deck 4 after it gets dark. A total different experience than on the Magic.

Thanks for posting this. I'm also going on the Fantasy after being on the Magic twice. I'm nervous because I never felt The Magic was over crowded. And we were told that both times the ship was at max capacity.

I have no input to add other than what others have said so with that being said I can tell you that you are in for a real treat. The Fantasy is one big beautiful ship so quit worrying and enjoy your cruises.
Actually I have the opposite problem as you guys, I've never been on a classic yet but that's all about to change in 2 weeks when we head to Alaska on the Wonder. My worries? Only about the airline taking us to Vancouver, none about the ship once we get there.
