New to the boards.. thinking about buying into SSR

I've looked for days on the DVC boards and have gotten a TON of info and have talked to a lot of ladies on my other chat board who own DVC and gotten a lot of info and talked to my guide and gotten even more info.

But I have 1 more question for you all.

DH and I are pretty sure we are going to buy into SSR once our guide calls us back next week when she is in her office again. We want to down the road buy a few add on points to BWV or BCV. What is the min. add on points you can do? Also when you do the add on points, would SSR and BCV/BWV (depending on which we add on) both be our homes so we could book at either 11months out?

I think the minimum add-on points you can buy is 25.

However, points retain their home resort. So if your initial purchase is SSR, and you add on 25 points at BWV, you can only use those 25 points (plus any BWV banked and borrowed points) to book 11 months out at BWV. You can't use your SSR points to book 11 months out at BWV, even though both those resorts are your home.

if you are buying directly from DVC then 150 points is the new current buy in on SSR.

if you are going resale - whatever you can find.

if you really want BCV or BWV - don't buy SSR. go resale.

some people don't realize that they have choices. You do. Now if you need to finance - some people have gotten a 2nd mortgage on their homes.
