New to t-shirt making

Hi!

I'm new here. I just found this site and I first want to say that you people are very talented with t-shirt designs!

I am so glad that I found this board because I have decided that I want to give as a Xmas presents t-shirts for our May 2006 trip. Our trip is going to be a combo trip...2 birthdays and a graduation celebration.

I purchased the t-shirts at the craft store and I have found some designs that I like but after that I don't know where to start. How do I insert type onto it, how do I mirror-image the design??

Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!!
