New to Site

I just found this discussion board. My family is going on a wish drip Dec 18-24. We are so excited to receive this opportunity and the timing is good since my husband is a teacher. We are staying at GKTW and was wondering at this time of year, what would be best - do we need to hurry and do the MK before it gets too crowded - or will it just be crowded all the time? Also, what events at GKTW in the evenings would recommend we make sure we do not miss - there is so much, we just found out and I have less than two months to plan. Any help, suggestions would be great!

welcome - there are a lot of wish trippers on here, so hopefully you will get some good advice

I suggest reading through the FAQs and look at the passporter guide for special needs, called "Open Mouse" it has a lot of great information for 1st timers.

It will be crowded all week but the crowds will build as the week goes on.

As a Make A Wish family you should be given a front of the line pass that is only given to MAW families so the crowds other then meal times shouldn't be a factor for you.

There is so much information there that you could spend hours there. It is one of the best sites I have seen as it is well organized and has many answers.

The parks will be packed but as a make a wish recipient the party would have in theory front of the line passes. FAQs on this board has links to Make a Wish trip reports and info.

You may well have this sorted already through GKTW, but even if your child doesn't usually use a wheelchair / stroller, you might want to consider getting one to save his or her energy. If you go for a stroller, make sure you get a GAC (see the FAQ section for details) to allow you to use the stroller as a wheelchair.

As people have said, you won't need to worry too much about the crowds. However, if you get in first thing in the morning it will be quieter (and cooler), so you'll have a little more space to stroll in. For meals, if you can, try to aim for an earlier or a later lunch to avoid the worst of the queues.
