This is the first time we’ll have to use rider swap. Our group is 6adults and one peanut (GS will be turning one on the trip) most of the time we don’t travel in a pack, but let’s say all 6 want to ride. Can 2 of us wait back with baby? Or will they only allow one? Or will they say “no rider swap you’ve got too many adults and someone can wait” I can’t seem to find a good answer to this.

Can't say about that big of a group but we were there in Sept. 3 adults and baby. I'm grandma, Daddy is my son (just for background). Daddy and Mama would ride together and I would keep baby and do rider swap. Two people can go on the ride. Daddy and I would go to RS Cast Member (with baby in stroller) while Mama waited for us. I would get my MB scanned as the rider who was swapping and Daddy would get his band scanned to ride with me if he wanted. I go solo a lot so if he didn't want or need to ride a second time, I would just get my band scanned. I would assume person #2 wouldn't need to ride the ride the first time and just go with the person swapping. They don't ask how many are in your party and your whole party doesn't need to be there when you are getting your band scanned as person doing the swapping. They actually tried to get me to have a second person with me more than once when I was getting my band scanned. I am assuming person doing the swapping does need to have baby with them when getting their band scanned to show they do indeed have a child who can't ride.

2 people can return for rider swap. It doesn't matter who those 2 people will be. Yes they scan the magic band of the people who are going to ride 2nd but CM have told us if we change our minds on who is going to ride to just swap bands. They don't ask for ID to match up with band, you just scan it at the posts.

Last Nov (2021) they allowed 2 guests. This year they changed to just 1 guest with waiting parent. Also they make the entire party (incl. the baby in the stroller) wait in the outside queue (20+ mins for SDMT). we were shocked at this one and I got a lot of heat here for calling out this policy. Also, everyone who is riding (incl waiting parent and child who is riding) needs a boarding group or Genie+ or LLIA$

We have only done rider swap with Rise of the Resistance when the virtual queue was still being used. I would go with my husband and friend in the main line, get my band scanned with the Rider Swap CM, and my husband and friend would go through the rest of the line. Once they were done, I went through the LL queue with my friend.
