I'm picking up my Jay Feather tomorrow :teeth: I am going from a 24' extended pop up to a 21' hybrid, roughly 28' extended with front bunk. This particular model has a side bunk too. Will I still fit in loop 1500 or 2000? Or do i need to upgrade?

Upgrade so you can use your own bathroom! Really, by the rules you are now a TT so you're suppose to upgrade. And congrats on the new camper.

Congratulations. We're anxiously waiting for our first camping trip in our new Fifth Wheel.

Yeah to a new camper!!! We got a new to us one about 3 weeks ago and I just love it! We need pics!

Congrats on the new camper. I had a regular popup like you had (a Jayco) for 10 years and as our needs changed, I started to look around. I ended up with an Aliner Expedition last April. I thought I would end up with a small Jayco hybrid and I like the way they are built and look. So I hope you are happy with it after you take it out for the 1st or 2nd time.

I will differ slightly from Denise's response and say as long as you are a popup or have some canvas showing, I'd think you are still okay in the Tent/Partial loops of 1500 and 2000. As she said though, to get the full benefit of your new trailer, a sewer hookup would add to the experience. Some trailers "pop up" with canvas but yours "pops out" with canvas, so to speak. I wouldn't put a Class A RV in those loops, but I have seen hybrids in there in the past and didn't have a problem.

Good luck with picking it up and taking it out on your first trip. I too would like some pics and specs (model, weights, etc.).

Jayco is a good camper and as far as I know still the only one that comes with a 2 year warranty. I am very pleased with my 32BHDS except for the size, but it was what my wife insisted on so I stuck with it. I haven't regretted it. My intentions was to go the opposite direction that a lot of others go. Instead of starting small and moving up, I wanted to start big while I have my kids wanting to go camping with us and then downsize later as it will eventually become just me and my wife.

Congrats

My new Open Range has a two year warranty. I went from a tent to a large Pop up. Then to a bunk house bumper pull with 10 beds. I just purchased the OR Fifth wheel mainly because we needed less beds now that kids are growing up and out. It also gives the wife and I more room and a real bedroom. We are anxiously waiting our first camping trip at the end on this month.

I would love a fifth wheel, but with kids, we just don't like the prospect of collapsing a dinette or a folding couch as a bedroom for the kids (or even us). Alas the few Fifth wheels we have found that have a nice bunk house (or accommodations for 2 kids) have been a bit too pricy for us.

We have a 21' TT and stay in the 2000 loop. I made sure with the Fort CMs that it was ok before we booked. She stated as long as we fit, and we were ok with not having sewer hook up, it was fine. We always find the CSs very clean and adequate, so that was not an issue. We drove out and looked at the 1500 and 2000 sites before we booked, and felt the 2000 sites were slightly larger. The grill and table area is off to the side instead of part of the pad, so it makes it larger. We fit with no problems and had extra room in the back for our nephew's tent. Good luck and have fun.

We've gone through it all. Started with a Jayco, little one. I think 16'. Just two of us. Loved that little trailer. Took it to the Fort for my first honeymoon. Went to a Dutchman 5th wheel. Just two of us. Lived in that for 6 months. Then went back to a Jayco 30' bunkhouse. Had two kids then. I loved that trailer too. But then there were 4 kids. Went to a Coachman 39' quad bunk. Not my idea and honestly, Coachman is my least favorite brand of campers. Good memories in that camper tho. Hard times came and we had to sell it. Back down to 2 kids and in came my 1973 Jayco Popup. And now my 2005 Jayco HTT. We have also traveled cross country with my dad in his enormous motorhome. I do love Jaycos. I think they are well made. The Jay Feather is part of the cookie cutter generation...so anxious to see if it lives up to my expectations.
