:confused3 this will be our first year for hhn. i have searched threads, but am still unsure what the set up is like. Are the rides in BOTH parks open for the whole party, or is it only in one park and the other side is closed? my husband and i wanted to check out both sides for a trip next year for our dd's (not hhn, just the parks for them) but this year we want to be able to experience both parks at hhn, as we will not be in the parks that morning. sooo my question is, will we be able to do both arks, and also, can someone tell me how far it is from disney to universal?? thanks!!!

You can't experience both during HHN. IOA will close at 7 for everyone. The Studios will close at 6 for those without HHN tickets. If you have tickets to HHN you can only do the Studios as that is where HHN is being held. I'm not sure exactly how the transition to HHN at the Studios is made for those attending during the day and at night. Someone else will fill in those blanks.

It is about 15 minutes from Disney to Universal.

Stay and Scream will be offered.

I'm not sure where the locations will be, but I will guess that Monsters Cafe is one of them.

That is a holding location for those who were already at USF and have tickets to remain for HHN.

Most of the rides at Universal Studios will be open during HHN, however if you want to try and ride most (if not all) of the rides AND experience Halloween Horror Nights (shows and houses), you'll probably need to buy the Express Passes (lines for the haunted houses can easily reach an hour+ later in the night)...unless you get there early and run through the park and do all the houses early in the evening (I've heard this is possible on non-peak nights...but it's never worked for me)

^^ I tried doing that one year & it didn't work. I was stuck for hours in line for the houses. Never again. My fiancee & I will never go to HHN w/o our EP.

The best idea is to visit IOA early in the morning, crowds are very light. You can get on all the rides with no problem. Go back to your hotel room for lunch and rest. Then come back at about 4pm and go to the Stay and Scream area. I can usually get thru all but the last house without EPs. I watch the Bill and Ted show, and the wait for the last house is usually and hour so I skip it.
Having the EPs means you can go thru the houses more than once and skip the line waiting to get in.

last year the epp for bill and teds was valid for the first show only.

i got skunked on that one.
but i sweet talked the guy checking tickets and he did let me in the second show. i wouldn't count on getting lucky again though. each year hhn grows with more crowds.

i read on another site that you can pay additional amount and be able to do ioa from 4 to 7:00 and then go over to the studios for hhn.

i think if you have the hhn ticket for that night, you can buy the ticket, thinking it is $10???, and do ioa for 3 hours than venture over for hhn in the other park.

this helps those that only have the hhn ticket but still want to do some rides at ioa.
