New to DVC - Question about buying 2 resale contracts at the same time.

We just signed the contract for our first DVC contract (very exciting) after doing a ridiculous amount of research (thank goodness for all the wonderful information on this forum). We planned to buy 2 contract at different resorts (SSR and AKV) with the same UY and we have found a good deal on the second contract (AKV) that we would like to jump on but I am worried that doing 2 at the same time and being brand new to DVC there may be issues with the DVC accounts linking (I am probably saying this wrong). For instance, would there be an issue seeing both contract in our DVC account if they close about the same time and we are net new DVC members?

You shouldn't have an issue. One of the contracts will pass first and you'll get a membership number and then the second contract will just be added under that membership number.

Agreed - shouldn't be an issue, if you're buying the same UY. Once the contracts are yours, you'll have a single membership. You'll be able to book at SSR 11 months out (with SSR points), AKL at 11 months out (with AKL points), or any of the original 14 DVC locations at WDW - at 7 months out, with points from either/both contracts. My first two resale contracts closed within two weeks of one another (different resorts as well) and I had no issues. I did flag it to the 2nd broker that I was working with but all was pretty seamless. Congrats and welcome home!

Second, you shouldn't have a problem with buying two resale contracts at the same time.

Thanks! Well we kind of planned it this way instead of buying a bigger single contract.

As soon as you know the first one has closed, send an email to MA and let them know you are buying a second with the contract number and details of that just so they know in advance.

Once you have a membership number, if you haven’t closed on the second, be sure to add that to the paperwork.

And then do the same, follow up with MA to give him that info. While there should not be an issue, I always did this just in case.

One tip is to use one title company for both purchases. That will make your life easier having one contact in the process and will have your info for the second contract.

We bought 2 resale contracts just a couple of weeks apart in 2022 as new members. We did not have a member number to give on the 2nd one because both contracts were in ROFR at the same time. It all worked out just fine.
