New to Disneyland!

I have been to Disney World several times, but my trip to Disneyland later this spring will be my first. I’m sure I’ll have several questions along the way, but here are my first two.

1. We only have two days that we can dedicate to DL during our trip. We plan to spend one day each at Disneyland and California Adventure. We will be there on a Thursday and Friday. Likely we won’t be able to get there until around 10am-11am on Thursday, but can make rope drop on Friday. We plan to do CA on Thursday and DL on Friday. Does that make sense? Both days we plan to hold out for as late as we can. We will have a fifteen year old and eleven year old with us and they have done well with long days at Disney World.

2.Any tips for a later start at CA, if that’s what we do on the Thursday?

Thanks!

Are you planning to purchase MP? Maxpass/Fastpass Superthread: an overview and some strategy
What are your trip dates? That can make a difference in what answers people give you. Will you be seeing any nighttime entertainment (if they are being shown on your dates)? If you want to see WOC on the Thursday in DCA, look into booking a dining package or the Dessert Party so that you don't have to invest too much time waiting for a good viewing spot. (World of Color Superthread -- study the first post, then ask questions in that thread.) For F! in DL on Friday, the dining packages give the best views (no question!) with the least wait. If you do the first F! show with a dining package, you will be invited to stay in your viewing area for the fireworks (if they are shown) afterward.

Who is in your party? If people are over 7, you can take advantage of single rider lines for RSR, Goofy and Incredicoaster.
Although, I do think by 10am, Goofy and incredicoaster should still have good options for fastpass.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll start reading both links.

Our dates will be April 23rd and 24th.

I “think” we will try to enjoy the night entertainment.

Yes, all over seven.

Yes! Single rider seems like a great option. So many more than what Disney World offers!. Everyone will be over the age of seven!
