New to Disney Cruise (Land and Sea)

What about the cruise justifies the $150 or so per person per day cost? (No snarky remarks please) I understand it's all you can eat and drink and the activities but there was essentially the same activities and such when we stayed at CBR in April.

Are there ever any deals for DCL? My husband really wants to do the cruise but I'd be fine with just relaxing an extra 3 days at the resort.

Have you ever done a cruise? It is a different kind of vacation that can't be compared to others. It is laid back and yet action packed. It is really hard to describe if you have never tried it. We were skeptical the first cruise and then got addicted and have been cruising every spring since. This is the first year we will be taking 2 cruises within one calendar year. Its that bad of an addiction. That said, Disney is really pricey. Our first cruise was booked with DCL and then I found a "better" itinerary on Royal for more nights and half the price so we switched and have been with Royal since. But you can get around Disney's, customer service and perks. So we are finally taking our first DCL cruise in 3 months (and we have a 7 day booked for next spring). We are doing 3 nights at Poly, 4 nights on Dream and 2 nights at Boardwalk (so 4 cruise days and 6 park days). We are Royal Caribbean people (made platinum status last month ), but we saw the Dream when we got on Freedom 4 weeks ago and knew we had to try her. So we booked a 4 night for fall as soon as we got back. Then as these things work, we were in the same port as Fantasy one day and dh decided we must try that, so I booked that for spring, but I have since changed that to Magic so we can try a different DCL class.

I have been on a cruise - The Royal Caribbean. It was enjoyable but nothing too amazing. (I'm certain Disney would be SO much better though!) The only availability I'm seeing for the days we want to go would be $2400 for a 3 day cruise I can't justify it. Even $2000 is a little much. I want to do this because my husband wants to so bad but the cost is making me have second thoughts!
