New TL Bus Policy

*sigh* ~I really don't like the idea of having to transfer buses, especially after a day at the water park. I don't want to call for a car either, that's something I reserve for park close or ironically DTD. It sounds like Disney is going to significantly increase the amount of buses that frequent DTD, which would be good. I wont knock it until I try it, I guess.

Is Disney willing to try "hold for connections"? That is, when a Typhoon Lagoon bus is arriving at Downtown Disney, other buses remain until guests can transfer.

I doubt it. As closing time approaches they have several buses lined up. As soon as one fills up another will pull into Load Zone Three. So arrivals at DTD are every few minutes and not on a schedule.

Hope they plan to drop off at the west side not the marketplalce or pleasure island cause it can get horribly crowed at those stops.

That was my thought - the Marketplace bus stop is too crowded, so I hope they mean the other bus stop.. which isn't great either. Dumping several bus loads of people in those spaces who have to wait up to a half hour for another bus to their resorts is lousy. Adding a half hour to your trip back is also going to make getting to your dinner ADR a challenge if you did not know this would happen.

Strong argument to be out of TL an hour before closing now.

Transportation is trying an experiment at Typhoon Lagoon. Starting about a half hour prior to Park Closing, buses will go only to Downtown Disney terminal. They will all load from Load Zone Three (normally Contemporary, Polynesian and Saratoga Springs). This will allow people to go shopping or eat at DTD, or connect with a bus directly to their Resort.
Prior to this time the normal afternoon schedule will be followed with all buses from DTD to a Resort stopping at TL enroute.

Not much of a change for us. Our resort bus used to leave TL, make a stop at DTD and then go back to the hotel. I guess instead of looking for an earmarked bus for our resort at TL we hop on any bus now and then look for ours at DTD. That said routing through DTD and having to transfer can be a pain in the behind. Hopefully, Disney makes it less of a pain in the behind during these hours. If I were leaving a water park, I'd not want to go shopping or eating with my swimming gear on or in tow.

Well hopefully, many of those buses that went from TL to DTD will be heading for a resort from there and the wait will be minimal.
