New Thread - What have you seen on the EA?

Arrived Nov 4th at 9pm.

EA was full, mostly Equnoxes, a couple of Liberty's and just as I loaded an Equnox with sunroof and 250 miles on it, a Grand Cherokee was put there. A few mini vans and a couple of G6's were there too.

Wow, so many suvs and vans. What's the cost of gas in the Orlando area anyway?

pxlbarrel....

yes everyone wants a car now since gas is so much, thus they must have an over supply of suv and mini vans...

good for those who need them, but not the way they originally set up the new EA last year

I'll take an SUV anytime, too many people driving, that have no idea where they are going in WDW or Orlando. To me it is a safety issue.

nice to see the cost of gas is "reasonable" again....

we are going saturday for 8 days...

Totally agree. Its also nice to have an SUV because not many people rent them. Good luck to the guy that parks at DTD with a White Malibu

$2.22 For regular at the Hess station by the Boardwalk today. :tilt:

just got back.....

plenty of cars on executive aisle...

lots of vans/suvs on emerald aisle

this is the A terminal

gas ...best price at the new super walmart gas bar 535 and polynesian isles blvd.....at one time this week it was down to 2.04$ but was running between 2.06 and 2.10 all week, the Hess next store was keeping up with matching prices....this was better than on site prices which seemed to be in the 2.15 range...

Anyone back recently????? We leave in 2 days and just wondering if the EA is still full of SUVs and vans. Seems like the last few posts mentioned bigger vehicles (possibly due to hi gas rates) and now gas prices are down a bit--so just wondering if that affected the EA selection at present.
Thanks

We got back last night. When we got there there were several small cars but right up front was an HHR Cheverlet. It had ONE mile on it!! It's a new car I guess; kind of looks like a PT cruiser, which is what I thought it was for a day or two!! It was small inside but we did fine.

As we were driving out, the end of the EA had a minivan and a couple of SUVs...I couldn't tell if they were small SUVs or regular size though.

Great experience. No complaints.

Just back last nite. Couldn't tell what was there yesterday (we always seem to be running late to get to our flight--don't want to leave!!) But arrived on 11/28 am, and there were only G6's and some Malibu's. No minivans or SUV. Took a G6 and was surprised at the trunk space.
Had a great, but chilly week.

We just got back 12/5. On Thursday 12/1 at 4pm--we were able to get a Chevy Equinox. There were Saturn vues and lots of full size cars too.

On 12/2 EA (B side) was filled with all kinds of cars and SUVs. Can't remember seeing every space filled with a cars, in a long time.

I just went to National's website and checked out the Emerald Club links. It's $50 a year for membership right?

You can get a free membership, I don't have the link. Maybe call them and ask. I've had a card since 1998 and never paid.

Check mousesavers.com. That will show you how to get the membership for free.

We're getting a little OT, but for the past several days, there's been an animated ad banner at the very top of the National website. The text rotates between: "Fee-Waived Emerald Club Membership", "Exclusive Free Days Offer", and "Join Today, Click Here". Click on the banner to sign up for a free Emerald Club membership. I think the competition among the rental car companies is compelling them to offer free memberships to their various clubs. That means, the consumer is the winner. :)

Getting back OT...we'll be arriving very early on Sat. Jan 14 from a West Coast red-eye. I'm hoping that getting to the EA early will yield some good choices--a mini-van or SUV would be nice:) I originally posted asking about the PT Cruiser, but I think anything else would be more practical for us, even a G6 or Malibu.
