I am looking into things to do that do not require park admission. Is there a charge for bike rentals at DVC resorts for members?

Yes there is a charge for bikes, boats, and other activities. You can check out a DVD for free or use the pools.

You can go do mini-golf. Short walk over by the S&D or take the bus over to either course. We love just exploring the resorts. Go the the GF, grab a drink and listen to the piano player or the band in the lobby on the comfy couches. Nice down time!

There are things to see and do at the campgrounds - especially if you go around Halloween and at night. How guests decorate their area is amazing. Walking around there is really enjoyable. They also have the stables and a little area with the animals.

If you wanted to rent bikes, boats, there is a charge but you get a DVC discount.

I really like going to the GF and justg taking in the ambiance of the place...listening to the music, having tea, shopping, people watching...it is always a relaxing afternoon for me. Then I usually take the monorail to the other resorts in the MK area just to see what is new. You can spend a good day just exploring the MK resorts.

Not sure what time of year you'll be going but we made reservations at Hoop De Doo for the early show then walked around the campgrounds and watched the fireworks from the beach at FL and took the boat back to WLV. I also made reservations at the California Grill about a 1/2 hour before the MK fireworks so we wouldn't miss out on the fireworks completely. The Boardwalk is always fun and you can get a glimpse of Illiminations from International Gateway. Don't forget about visiting other resorts and the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the Poly.

Stuff we love to do outside of the Parks:
- Visit all of the resorts
- Ride the boats - anywhere!
- Visit the horse barn and horse museum at Fort wilderness
- Take the sleigh ride during the Christmas holidays
- Relax at our resort
- Walk the Boardwalk
- DTD
- Test out the different food courts at the various resorts (the food choices will surprise you)
- Find a quiet pool
- hit the hot tub early in the morning or later in the evening
- take the various resort tours (they are free)
- Sign up for Flag Family at your resort
- be present for the rope drop Welcome at MK (viewing outside the gate)
- Visit the various Disney outlets (& Disney Junk Dealers) around Orlando
- Do Welcome Home Wednesday (at least once)
- Take a break at the various Pool Bars
- Ride the Monorail loops
- Sleep

Some specific "resort" offerings:
Kidani village has presentations at 8:15 each evening by the exchange folks from Africa. VERY interesting and fun to do.

Drum circle at Kidani library at 7:00 PM. LOTS of fun for both kids and adults.

View all the artifacts in the various resorts. i.e. American Indian items and Grand Canyon items at WL, African items at AKL both Jambo and Kidani. Kidani has them throughout all the hallways to the guest rooms. Grand Floridian jazz combo in the atrium and the piano player before and after the jazz combo. Wednesday morning "parade" of housekeepers at OKW. It's fun and funny to watch them drive into the resort on their carts from the path that goes to SSR/DTD. They even do it up with music and costumes! It usually happens around 8:00 am.

If you are there during holiday season, many of the resorts have special concerts and holiday offerings. Many are at WL. You can also tour all the gingerbread houses at the various resorts. We always like the carousel at BC/YC best.
