I haven't been on the DIS in a while, so forgive me if this has been beaten to death.

I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the New Test Track because my DF and I absolutely hate it. To quote a Disney friend, 'all the endearing cheesiness is gone'. TT is like you're trapped inside sterile, blue-tinged computer generated world (Tron?). I find it boring, bland, and somewhat creepy with the computer lady voice. It has no real personality and for the first time ever, IMO, Disney made a ride worse!!!

Some like it, some don't.

As for your last statement, may I submit Journey Into Your Imagination, Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management, and Stitch's Great Escape as just a few examples of widely reviled updates to original attractions.

I actually liked it. It felt like the ride was faster than before. I'm not sure of the staying power of the redesign but the old TT was getting a little stale and needed some updating.

Dh and I both liked the new Test Track. We also think it definitely went a bit faster than it use to. We got up to 65 MPH this time on it. I also like that old stupid video/movie you had to watch is gone. I like the new changes. The new twists and turns on the inside were fun.

It has always gone to 65 mph.

Hate the new tt. Only road it once last trip rather than 2 or 3 times.

Hahahajja, true. Great list! Winnie the Pooh also.

I felt it was too much work just to ride the ride. Once I rode and saw what they were doing with ranking the cars, I didn't totally hate it as much as I had started to. Its a good idea, I'll give them that, but still I'd rather just walk through the queue and get on the ride.

I feel silly for asking, but we never got to do the old one - it was closed for the update when we went last year - does this one still go through all the "tests"? Like the cold/hot/bumpy stuff? This is why my DH really wants to try it out, not sure if this isn't part of the new ride...

Nope, no more hot/cold rooms. Track is essentially the same, but almost everything around it is unrecognizable. I'd still do it, it's worth a try.

To those who have never experienced the 'original'...they do not know any difference. BTW..DD17 who has gone to WDW since 13 months..thought the new TT was AWESOME! ( and my dad is a retired GM employee so we DO get FOTL privilages for this when he is with us- WOOT!)

I personally am not a fan of the new version of the ride. They pretty much gutted it, made it dark, added some black lights and then reopened it. We still ride it, though.

I agree with this. I was referring to the ride prior to the outside run. I'm sure it's all the same speed. It only seems faster to me. Maybe less distractions. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

While I don't mind the changes I'm not sure it will hold up in the long run.

We all really liked it...we went in expecting to be let down... we were not at all. it was a good change!!

I didnt miss the hot/ cold room.

Sounds like we are in the minority so far- but we actually like the redesign better. Maybe it's psychological, but it feels faster...possibly because it's darker. After the first time on the new tt, we did decide to skip the whole design process and get right on the ride though. Still, that is better than getting stuck watching the old movie.

You are right! I was not thinking of anything else when I wrote that, but I completely agree about Tiki Room, and Journey!

As for Stitch, I hated it as Alien Encounter, and hate it now too.
