I just read that the jewelry store located inside the Mexico pavilion (you know, the one that you never see anyone shopping in?) will be closed some time during the next few months and will be replaced with..get this...a Tequila bar. Sweet!!

I gag when drinking tequilla but this is an awesome addition, I saw Samantha Brown one night and she visited a tequilla bar, very cool

1 - The jewelry store certainly wasn't very busy when we were there 2 weeks ago. Besides the KidCot area, it was the slowest room we saw. Anything new in that shop area should be an improvement.

2 - A tequila bar would be welcome, if..... they have a variety of different tequilas to sample. I thought that Pepe Lopez (or such) was being sold in the little outdoor market area (inside the pavilion). It would be a shame if any one product or one distributor dominated the bar selection. So many varieties, so little time.....

The new addition should provide an interesting option to those 'drinking around the world'. And it might improve the boat ride experience as well.

This was from todays business briefs...

Epcot Tries New Recipe For Success; Eateries Updated For Interactive Dining
(Wednesday, July 25, Orlando Sentinel)

From 1998 through last year, the dining lineup at Epcot's World Showcase went almost unchanged. Now, three new restaurants are on the way, several others are being expanded or renovated, and menus are being rewritten throughout the park to encourage more healthful cooking styles. Among the changes are new restaurants in Italy and Japan, and changes at the eatery in China. Mexico's restaurant has already been expanded with a new menu. Next, Mexico will get a tequila bar and outdoor waterfront seating so visitors can see the nighttime Illuminations show on the lagoon.

The outdoor waterfront seating I dont get, dont they have that already at the Cantina?

Agreed! The wine shops around Epcot have a decent variety of different brands to choose from. I hope the new tequila bar takes note and mixes it up as well. "The Mexico Pavilion's Tequila Bar, proudly presented by Pepe Lopez" just doesn't cut it, especially seeing that they only have a Gold and Silver label, and both, though not the worst in the market, are far from the best...

As long as I can get my traditional fiesta margarita in 2 weeks, things will be fine!

This is going to add a whole new level to drinking around the world.
We usually start in Mexico and I am pretty "happy" after Germany.
We made in one time all the way around and ended up on the wrong bus trying to get back to AKL.
We may never make it out of Mexico when the new bar opens up.

I read about the tequila bar yesterday I think in All Ears, and I believe it said they were expanding the outdoor seating at the Cantina, to make more seating available, which will be nice !

As for drinking around the world, oh no ! I might be with some of you on the floor. ROFLMAO

just what we needed hard liqueur on demand at epcot I hope its not standing room only on the bus that night:banana:

New menu in Mexico?? I wonder what the changes are? We leave Thursday. And here is the crazy question.... What does tequila taste like? Sweet, bitter?:confused3 If anybody has seen the new menu please tell us.

Ahhhh crud. Am I the only person who's noticed that tequila seems to bring out the mean in drinkers? I can just imagine hearing some guy yelling, "Hey, that @#$# is staring at me! You want some of this?!" while his girlfriend desperately tries to explain that it's not the character's fault they can't blink.

We leave in 36 days! Think the Tequila will be flowing yet? That would make Mission Space a whole new adventure! :drinking1 + :drinking1 = :tigger:
