New style of vinylmation

Okay vinyl collector's, what are your thoughts on the new style of vinylmation? The Sea Creature series that comes out tomorrow, will be the first of the new style. I'm undecided.

I have a relatively small collection, but I like that all the designs are on the same base. However, I have avoided getting ones that look bad on the old style base. I understand that the new style will allow for a smoother look (not having Mickey's nose), but I sort of feel that it's a cop out for really working to make a better design. It almost feels like they are mainly interested in mass producing a whole bunch the easy way.

Without Mickey's nose and button shorts on the new style...it's mainly becoming a stout figure w/ Mickey ears.

I just looked at them. I do not like it at all. I feel that the whole purpose of the vinylmations is the creative way to display art/characters on Mickey Mouse. I feel that if they are changing the canvas it is has forfeit the Disney Vinylmation name. I understand that they are trying to change it up to make it look more like what it is supposed to be, but I do not like it. I can say the same thing with the Animation collection in how they added tails to Donkey Pinocchio and a wand to the Fairy Godmother, but they did not change the Mickey nose or remove his buttons.

Not a fan! Wish they would keep the old design but guess we'll have to see what the new one looks like in person.

I am not liking the new mold at all! I have been collecting from the beginning and am very sad they are changing the mold. This was supposed to be a good thing for the artists but the new pirates set looks horrible! They all look like they have the mumps or are all holding their breath. Vinylmations were much cuter when you could tell it was a "painted" Mickey. I am done buying until I can see the new mold in person. Shame on whoever's idea it was to change these guys and make them look less like Mickey. That was why I liked them so much!

I just returned from D-Street...not impressed. It changes the entire feel of vinyls. It's no longer a Mickey canvas. I didn't mind the added pieces on the older designs--they were still on a Mickey canvas.
Well, my bank account appreciates the change... even if my heart and eyes do not. I won't be buying any more so long as they are just generic figures with mouse ears.

I don't like the new mold at all. I liked that the old mold looked like Mickey. Now it looks very generic. I would take paint imperfections and less detail over the use of this new mold. I honestly am going to buy less (if any at all) now. I wish they would remember that it all started with a mouse and now the mouse portion is gone. I'll just add this change to the list of Disney things I miss (The original Epcot, VMK, the days when personalized Mickey ear hat names were sewn by a person using a sewing machine and not a computer etc.).

Also, don't even get me started on the in-development Duffy: The Traveling Bear Mold for 2012! Why is Duffy being forced on people?! If you want a Teddy Bear, he's kind of cute(If you don't, he's forgettable), but why on EARTH would anybody want a Vinylmation on a Duffy form?! It was bad enough changing Mickey's form to be a blob with Mickey ears, but next year they will subject us to vinyls that aren't even supposed to be on Mickey?! It ALL started with a mouse--but it will end with his bear...

Thanks for sharing the link! And...there's a Duffy vinyl canvas coming out? ::Sigh:: I don't have anything against Duffy as Mickey's bear, but it really is beginning to feel like he is being forced on everyone. Not a fan of the masks at the KidCot stations being changed to a Duffy face from a face that was different in each country.
