I know there is a reason to it regarding people supposedly not being interested in certain content but I preferred a central channel personally.

That being said I find it extremely difficult to keep up with the content now. One way to help people out would be replicating DISUnpluged with the Partner Channels being at the top of the page. As the content amount is so low I find the channel is not making it to the top of my subscriptions and is being lost in the mix.

Part of this is YouTube's fault for not having a better ability to categorize your subscriptions but have to live with it at this point.

Also if this brings additional content to DVC topics or Dining Topics though great all for that.

YouTube also removed the email notification option. This feature was so handy as it provided me with a list of videos in my inbox that I could then go back and watch with my wife or kids when timed allowed. Now I have to try to remember to watch a specific video that caught my attention when I get home from work. If there isn't time that night, we most likely won't be able to watch the video. None of my issues are the fault of TheDis, but maybe they could send out a weekly list of videos added during the prior week. I know the daily newsletter has links to videos but a complete list would be helpful.

@Rm4OneMore TOTALLY agree about HATING the "no email notifications from YouTube". I have missed so many videos since they made the change. I know it's not the most important thing in the world these days, but it is a major source of information and entertainment for me to help FORGET and be able to handle the other big stuff going on these days. Now it just causes me more "work" and stress. :(

Yeah, I will be interested to see how it goes with these new channels and notification changes. A few of the Dreams agents went to WDW in October(?) and did a pre-trip show about it on the DU channel a couple of months ago, I have been wanting to see the follow up because I really, really respect Tracey's opinion. It's a "pain" because I keep looking for it and it hasn't aired yet. I have probably gone looking for it on 10 different occasions. It takes away from some of the enjoyment when it becomes a chore to chase it down. And now the Disumplugged is even more broken up.

And, of course, this is all first world problems, so it's whatever.

I don't think it's been recorded even. John pretty much handles all of the Dreams show content and if he needs extra help then he'll involve us, but John usually has videos uploaded as soon as they are finished so I'm guessing they haven't done anything yet.

I'm not sure what you're asking for with your suggestion for the way to help. If you could be a bit more specific, I can look at making changes.

I know the new channels isn't convenient and it was nice having everything centrally, but it's going to help us in the long run. YouTube will suggest videos based on watch time, views, and click-through rate on individual videos and channels. DIS Unplugged had A LOT of videos going up and a lot of people were able to find videos like the Tuesday show because it gets watched a lot and gets clicks. Something like Moving to Orlando or even Universal that maybe didn't get the same engagement and watch time for our channel would inevitably have a negative impact on the channel overall and cause YouTube to suggest our videos less which means even if you're subscribed, that doesn't mean that you'll see our videos front and center like you might've before. YouTube is happier when all of our videos perform closer to each other and that helps us grow.

By breaking down the channels, we are able to organize our content based on topics a lot better and allows us to get into micro nice content. DVC seems like it would go hand-in-hand with WDW, but DVC people really love DVC and they will be more interested in the nerdy topics that would probably get lost on DIS Unplugged. Same thing can be said about all of the channels we have broken off.

Ultimately, this is about growth for us and sometimes you have to step back to move forward. Way back in the day our shows were hosted on YouTube.com/WDWInfo and we made the decision to move them to DISUnplugged because we were producing more shows than ever before and our channel was a mess because it was so mixed between in-park videos and shows. It caused massive, rapid growth for that channel and our shows overall. However, due to the nature of our shows, we know that we are very helpful to people currently planning a trip vs. just straight entertainment like other vloggers so when people aren't planning they might not be watching as much and we need to reach new audiences who are planning and we can't reach new audiences if we have the issues describe above.

I know this is way more in depth and detailed than was ever asked for, but I'm hoping this will be a resource for people who are genuinely confused why we are seemingly spreading out our content and trying to make it harder to find what's new.

A very helpful resource for us right now is WDWInfo.com. If you're not used to visiting The DIS, we actually are constantly rotating out new videos on our home page so you barely have to do any work to find what is our newest content. I know that doesn't help if you want to go back and catch up, but if you want what's newest then that's a good place to go outside of YouTube.

Yup it all makes sense the main part of my annoyance is solely on YouTube for not giving a better option to group and filter subscriptions instead of just giving a big long list or group everything by day.

Hopefully my screenshots help and it would be useful for those of us who don't catch every show on release day but do binge watch a few days of content in an afternoon/evening.

EDIT:
Wanted to add it may show up differently on different platforms but typically is there and is super helpful to skip through various channels with a content creators "Group" of channels that they produce.

Ohhh, that's a good idea Seth! And it was cool Craig was receptive enough to ask for clarification and reply to us. Now I can totally see what you are suggesting and it is a good idea.

My YT recs have been weird. I know it's all a numbers game but there are a few channels, it doesn't matter how much of the content I consume, I have to search for it every single time and it never comes up on it's own.

Instead, I keep getting things like cruise horn battle videos. I mean they are entertaining and all, but how many does a person need to see?

But doesn't all this legwork just set-up YouTube to wreak havoc if (or perhaps when) they alter their payment algorithms? I guess they force you to comply if you want the monetary compensation.

I sort of look at it like file structures on a PC. You can indent almost countless folders, but still fall under a/the master folder.

Gotcha. Yeah we can absolutely do that. We haven't really added those yet, because the thought is if you're going to find us it's most likely going to be from WDWINFO or DISUNPLUGGED, but we'll get on it. Thanks for suggesting it!

I haven't really looked in a while, but does the newsletter showcase every video on the channels? Could be a spot for it as well.

Thanks Craig. If it helps at all, I was really thrilled with the change because the main channel had gotten increasingly difficult for me to navigate especially when it comes to finding older content (the video you made a while back of your Poly staycation with Kylie is “comfort food” for me!). I’m not interested in buying DVC, Moving to Orlando, etc. and it was rough sometimes wading through all of that to find a dining review for example. The new way makes it a lot easier to focus on the content that’s relevant to me, so thanks.

I think linking to the various channels in the newsletter would help a lot though.
