New Star War Teaser released

This new teaser at least has me now cautiously optimistic ... I just felt so burned by eps 1 and 2 that my bar is set pretty low. They've introduced new characters in the comics, Aphra (a female Indiana Jones) and Triple Zero (homicidal protocol droid) that are rumored to be in the new Star Wars films. So far I'm loving these new characters and it would only be more positive if they appear in the next movie

...Like the guy says in his famous youtube review of Phantom Menace, the point of the giant star cruiser running down Leia's little courier ship in A New Hope is not to impress you with the tremendously advanced sci-fi special FX, it's to tell you in 5 seconds that there is someone really powerful and menacing who's threatening someone who's really small and scared. When the star cruiser fills the screen and makes you feel like you're being crushed, it's so that you will identify emotionally with the people on the little courier ship. From that moment you have signed on with the rebels...

Exactly. However, it was a difficult shot for them to do at the time and I shudder to think what we would have got had they the ability to have a thousand ships flying around at the same time (IE Revenge of the Sith). Bigger budgets and better technology is not conducive to more creativity.

Please, please, Harrison Ford, stay out of any and all airplane cockpits for the foreseeable future. Just go get yourself a nice flight simulator and a big monitor for your computer.

You must stay safe through the premier and beyond - it's now getting too real for us after this great trailer......

I like this order but hate to miss Darth Maul. He should have gotten better treatment.

I hope that this new movie is like the original trilogy and not the later I-III. Even though III is actually pretty good...

If you like Maul, check out the Clone Wars episodes he is in.

I had to look up Machete Order....clever, but it presumes what many think in that the Phantom Menace is the worst movie. The problem is now that my daughter has watched them I have seen I and II a number of times, and II is actually IMHO a WORSE movie than I. Sure the plot of TPM is overly-convoluted while at the same time non-sensical and boring, but I will say that the pod-racer scene is possibly the best thing to come out of the prequels and the final battle as it moves across four different locations is also well done, though the Jar Jar portion is still pretty cringeworthy. Episode II has NOTHING at all of interest going for it. Most of the movie is a boring subplot about Obi-Wan searching for clones that may have worked on first viewing but upon repeat viewing is just a slog, cut between the worst and most unbelievable love story ever put to film.

While I never need to watch either of those movies ever again, the only one I would actively avoid is AotC.

Here's my advice to someone new to Star Wars getting ready for the Force Awakens...Watch Episodes IV, V, and VI and stop there.

Oh - and on the original subject of the new teaser trailer. Well done! That first shot across the desert was just brilliant. Well cut to give you a taste of things but leaving you with lots of questions. And seeing Han and Chewy - NICE!
