New Source for 3-day Hoppers!

I would love to be able to get the 4 or 5 day convention tickets for our trip in Nov., but like others here I am leary! If anyone does throw caution to the wind and purchase and use them could you please post or pm me? Thanks!

I'm all for trying to save money...but to lie and say you are with a convention when you aren't is pretty slimy and pathetic. These passes are obviously not meant for you. FYI, this little "tip" is all over the internet so I'm sure WDW is seeing a massive increase in ticket sales to "convention guests" You may very well get questioned at the gate.

If you call the Alamo Rental car 800 number and tell them you are interested in Disney tickets, you should be able to order a 3 day PHP plus one day at a water park (they transfer the call to Disney). I ordered mine 3 weeks ago, and got them in the mail already. $169 p/p.

but to lie and say you are with a convention when you aren't is pretty slimy and pathetic.

Actually when you go to the link posted on page 3 of this thead it states the tickets are

valid for use only on the specific dates of the meeting/convention/wedding.

for me the key word here was meeting, I would not have lied about a wedding or convention to get the cheaper tickets, but I am going to a "meeting." Meeting, not being further defined, is a very vague term from a very savvy company. I did buy the tickets because they did not ask me to identify what "meeting/convention/wedding" I was attending, leading me to believe that they really don't care. I don't mind you calling me
"pretty slimy and pathetic" but the other people on this thread don't deserve to be spoken to in that manner.

For everyone else I will post when I get back if there are any issues with the tickets.

:wave2:

well said alice!! it seems some people on this board NEVER fibbed a little to get a better deal from a multi billion dollar company that charges $3.00 for 12 oz. of water, who's "ripping" who off????

let me ask this question, when all convention tickets for a said convention are not used, does disney purchase the tickets back or does the convention "eat" the cost of the unsold tickets??? or better yet, if a relative etc. has unused days remaining has anyone ever purchased them from them? this practice is illegal to disney as well. is this also "pretty slimey"? why should we be forced to pay for a 4 day ph if we are only going to disney for 3 days??? these are the questions i ask myself when looking at other ticket alternatives.

If you are not attending a large group event like a convention or wedding, then these tickets are not meant for you. Does "looking for other ticket alternatives" you are going to lie about attending a convention? Justify it any way you want to, I really don't care. Let's see...I will make it easy for you. "I don't want a 4 day pass" "Disney is a large corporation, they won't miss that extra money" "Disney charges too much anyway" "It's Disney's fault for not making it harder for me to get away with"

I don't want to offend anyone here but why should people attending conventions be the only ones allowed to purchase passes for the time they are going to be in the parks. My family and I can only be there for 3 days tops and we would like to be able to park hop without paying for days now that we may or may not use be able to use in the future. I am not asking for any freebies - just the same consideration that is given to the special groups. Why can't Disney offer everyone a 2 or 3 day hopper pass? I would be willing to pay a bit more for a 3 day hopper pass (compared to 3 one day tickets) just for the privilege of park hopping.

I agree that many people will have the opportunity to return to WDW in the future, and therefore buying a 4-day hopper for a quick 2 or 3 day stay isn't a big deal. But there are people who either cannot afford to shell out money now for a hopper that's more than they can use, or, as in the case of 2 of my friends who are coming with me to WDW in October, they want to see bits and pieces of it once but might never come back. These friends don't live in the U.S., and usually vacation in Europe. They don't have kids, and are only planing to visit WDW because a mutual friend lives north of Orlando. Plus the shopping in Orlando is great compared to home. Basically, if we want to play for 3 days in the parks we either have to choose 3 out of the 4 and get one-day tickets (for aout $170 or so?) or they have to spend more than $200 for 4-day hoppers when they don't really know if they'll ever use the last day (and probably won't). I have told them that I will buy their last day if the 4-day hopper is ultimately our best choice (because we want all 4 parks, or want to hop), as I know I'll be back with my family in 3 or 4 years. The friend we are visiting is lucky in that she will likely be able to get a play 4 days pass if it comes out again for October, which will cost her about the same as 2 park days! We would be happy to get a 3-day hopper with expiry for us - it is the perfect ticket!! Why oh why is this such a big deal??!! I hate lying and conniving too, and I really don't want to do it. But t's frustrating having to choose between 2 options that really don't meet our needs. And if we go with the 4-day hoppers then I will be essentially prepaying for some of my future holiday when I buy the unused days from them - something I would have preferred not to do as this year is tight money-wise. I am only going on this girls trip because I have airmiles and free accomodation! Sigh

Anyway, I see all sides of this argument - I just wish there were a couple more ticket options, and I don't entirely understand why Disney has chosen not to offer them (except that maybe they want people to pay for future visits sooner by buying 4-day hoppers even if they don't need all the days now? Helps their cash flow, but hurts mine!).

I don't think the excuse that Disney is a multi-million dollar company and they can afford to take the hit is going to fly. Who cares that they charge $3 for water? I usually take my own. The reason that they offer things for "special groups" is the same reason that they changed the MK Club to making you pay for the Disney Club, then got rid of the whole thing, and the reason that Disney Visa comes with discounts that non-cardholders cannot use. Exclusivity. The laws of supply and demand. I prefer having days left over because that cuts down on my admission media for each visit.

THAT SAID, I don't need an excuse or reason. I ordered from the convention site and Alamo and I don't feel bad about it. I don't feel like I am stealing at all. I am simply taking advantage of an offer that was presented to me, and if that makes me "slimy", oh well, squish, squish. If that makes me "pathetic", as one poster put it, then I am a pathetic person who will maintain my twice a year habit by whatever cost cutting methods I feel are useful to me, as long as they are within reason. I am sure that the folks who are opposed to this "tip" have never, ever done anything under false pretense. I am remembering something about those in glass houses...

The issue here isn't whether it's right or wrong. Who are any of us to pass judgement on others? I think the ideas presented here are for everyone. If it doesn't work for you, hey, you can make the choice to not use that idea.

Okay, everyone exhale, rant over.
:D

excellent points bajanswife and feepeedisney, these are my points exactly. is it o.k. to go to the alamo site and get a 3 day ph. obviousley those tickets were for promo purposes and are not intended for the general public but are leftovers from the promo. oh well, "to each his own" it just bothers me a bit when people start calling other people "slimey" etc. we all have bent rules before to save $$ so lighten up a bit!!

I never said there was anything wrong with buying passes from Alamo. However, it is wrong to lie and misrepresent yourself as attending a convention when you are not just to save a few dollars.

I think, for myself and what I'm hearing from others on here, it's not so much a quesion of right and wrong as it is a question of how would it work? I think people are more afraid of getting down there and being asked for ID. What would happen if they don't let you in due to lack of ID? Then you are 'stuck' in WDW (is that a bad thing :teeth: ) and you would have to go purchase new PHs and most likely not be able to get a refund on the convention tickets you purchased. In essence you would be paying for 2 sets of tickets. I cannot afford that, and I'm not sure I would take the risk of having to do that. Those of you who are 'living on the edge' let us know how it goes when you get back !!!

"and if that makes me "slimy", oh well, squish, squish."

  That line cracked me up!!!

It would just be nice if Disney would recognize the need for 3 days tics & offer them at advance/gate prices like the others. If they wanted to offer a better discount to conventions, then so be it but why not offer that day option to everyone.

Adult 4 day park hopper (NOT PLUS) $200 --- not shipping charges
Child 4 day park hopper (NOT plus) $165 ---- no tax no shipping.

Both of these expire 14 days from first use.

Is this good ---- has anyone used this company ?

Thanks

My aaa office oofers the 4 day ph for $202 not sure if tax is included or not but these ones do not expire.
