New Soarin'

I love the California theme, but the one they are showing is showing some wear, if ya know what I mean. I kept fixating on these spots, thinking they were going to zoom into focus and then realizing they were just flaws in the screen or the movie.

They are mostly flaws in the screen but yes, it could be redone to fix that.

I like the one that's there right now too but the one thing that's always kind of bugged me is that when you fly over DL, it's Christmas time with the tree and lights up. It looks pretty but I would prefer a non-holiday version during non-holiday times. You're supposed to actually be flying over and if it's the middle of summer, it seems strange to see the Christmas stuff. I actually think it would be cool to have a holiday version during Christmas time and non-holiday version the rest of the time. That's my only gripe. I wouldn't mind a whole new movie, just to see something different but I would prefer that they keep the California theme. I don't like that they're taking out all the California stuff around the park.

Ohhh, love this idea!!

I'd love the ride film to be longer and to be fixed up. They really do skip over so much of our state that it's almost a shame.
I also like the idea of soarin' in Epcot being more international and having different locations. Maybe they can do something like that.....

I must be the only one in this entire thread who actually LOVES the Christmas DL overhead scene and wants them to keep it year-round! 365 days a year. It is a little weird to see that in fall or summer, yes, but then it is also odd to have a year-round Christmas shop in DL too - but I LOVE the idea that it is there! The holidays are my absolute favorite time to be at DLR, and the colors and lights of the holidays make more of an impact from the air, I would think, than the regular DL scene. So I like being able to have a taste of that holiday feeling all year long. I love it and I want them to keep it in (but I don't think they will if they change the whole film, sadly, so you guys should be happy!).

I want them to leave it as is. I don't think they need to change it. It should be about CA, after all it's in CALIFORNIA Adventure.....

Totally agree, if its made global I feel like there just making it a carbon copy of the one at WDW. I like that ours was first and that its California.

I love Disney during the holidays too so the holiday overlay is fine with me (but the joy I feel during that scene may possibly be relief that the ride is over and I haven't hurled ... LOL, Soarin' is hard for me to endure but I don't want my boys to pick up my fear).

If they do make a new film, maybe they could fly over the neighborhood we used to live in near Orcutt.Would be nice to see how the area has grown in the last (cough/mumble) 45 years.

I always have trouble with the 'lift off,' as that is a little unsettling. And the first couple of times I rode it I had trouble keeping my eyes open at all. So I would try to focus on the floor for a minute to assure myself we were not really in the air and not that high up. I think I am getting used to it now, and I find it easier to keep my eyes open through MOST of it....but my poor friend - who I think loves the ride - has trouble keeping her eyes open. I always look over at her and her eyes are tightly shut! But she loves it anyway! I am glad to know I am not the only one who appreciates the year-round dose of DL holiday in Soarin'!

Only problem now is... aren't they withdrawing the whole 'California' theme with the DCA facelift?

see i want to go on a new star tours, but it worries me that they will change it and it will lose that feel that it has at this time.

however thats not to say it wont be good. i liked to see that the OCL is looking to help cover the cost, disney really need to start using them a little more.

and also are they moving the orbitor or not, its in the way i think, when people line up and its a big line it can be quicker to get into tomorrowland by going around the back near nemo.

They should either enhance the footage with scenes of California, or leave it as is. It is a wonderful ride. I went with a bunch of Cast Members from the Disney Store I work at, which some of them have never been on Soarin' Over California. When the ride was over, some were in tears. It is a very moving ride. As a matter of fact, Jerry Goldsmith, the composer that wrote the music for the ride, was in tears after his first ride. We have all heard the saying, "If it isn't broke, don't fix it."

See, but the thing with the holiday stuff is that during the rest of the ride I'm sitting there feeling like I'm actually flying over all those places in California and then look there's Disneyland! And then I reallize that I'm looking at a Christmas tree and I think "wait a minute, it's not Christmas!" and it breaks the illusiion for me and brings me back to reality that it's just a film I'm watching.

It would honestly be really nice for Soarin' to have several movies and so each time you go in, you dont know what to expect.

I've always wanted to see more in Epcot, like a new Soarin in one of the countries, like Italy. Would take away some of the crush for Soarin over California in Epcot.

In DL, then, they would maybe alternate it somehow so that sometimes it was California or sometimes it was (for example) Italy? :cool2:

yeah i want to see some different movies... but as i said keep one screen locked to the original and use the second screen to show other things

that is quite funny.. and i must say i missed it the first time i saw the clip someone told me..
