New Security Restrictions at the Airports

ok a question for anyone that might know - my youngest ds' has major food allergies and one of the things we have to carry for him along with his epi pens and inhalers at all times is a bottle of liquid benadryl - do you think it is sufficient to get a letter from the dr and take a sealed new bottle?? I don't think they would put a rx label on it :confused3 we 'could' do the chewable jr benadryl but if he has a reaction to something they don't work as fast as the liquid.

Just to be on the safe side and to make sure that bottle of Benadryl goes with you on the plane, get your doctor to write a prescription for it. Although you can just get it off the shelf, the pharmacist can probably put a label on it so that it's prescribed. It can't hurt to ask and since everybody is aware of the liquid ban and the problems with carrying liquid medication on board, I'm sure your doctor and pharmacist will understand the necessity of getting that rx label.

I have a major fear of flying as it is... I leave on Aug. 22 from Newfoundland. I do hope you can bring juice or water for small children because what they give you on the plane is not enough. Oh well, we were looking forward to bringing our laptop so the kids could watch a movie but now just to keep things simple we will leave it home. It is going to be a very boring flight it would be nice if Air Canada started showing movies again throughout this time.

There is no problem bring electronics with you. I'm travelling on business right now and I have my laptop, iPod, PDA, and cell with me. If my experience on Saturday is anything to go by the security lines are really any different than before.

I'm will be travelling with a 1 yr old who appears to be cutting a tooth  . With not being able to bring liquid Tylneol or gel filled teething rings this should be a fun trip! To me fellow travellers if you are on my plane I am sorry but its not my fault! :scared:

I think you'll be able to bring a very small bottle of liquid Tylenol. "essential other non-prescription medicines are allowed." according to Transport Canada. And I believe TSA in the States allows "up to 4 oz. of non-prescription liquid medications are permitted".

When in doubt...see if your Doctor will write a script for liquid Tylenol. Can't hurt I suppose. And I think that when everybody's on the plane, they'll just be relieved they're on vacation and through security without so much as a peep from anybody that they're not going to care about a teething baby. LOL

Well, ok...they'll be so busy trying to get liquids from the flight attendants they won't notice. :teeth:

Why not use advil or Motrin JUST before getting on the plane - take a single dose and give it just before going through security - it lasts for 6 to 8 hrs and will control the teething pain better then tylenol.

Good luck!!
