New Security Measures for MK Guests; UPDATES: Page 12 - Post 222; Live Reports - Pgs. 18-20

Could've boarded the resort monorail but decided to walk to the Polynesian. One cm, no metal detector, no wand and no table, was checking bags from people coming from the Poly to the ttc.

Is that the only security you need to clear when walking from the Poly to the TTC? Do you need to go through the other security at the TTC also?

Maybe I'm being a little paranoid or over reacting, but I'm not sure that it's a good thing that we're putting out there every single detail of the WDW security system in place. If a person wanted to find a loophole, it would be easy to search for this information and find it. But I guess if someone really wanted to do harm, they would. But I am just a little hesitant to discuss every detail of this system. I'll be getting my flame suit on in 3, 2, 1.....

Information posted here is more generic, available to anyone, not secret. Needless worry/concern on your part.

Speaking as someone in the security industry, none of this is done in the name of actual security. Statistically it's never been safer. It's the fear factor Disney is trying to quell. Disney doesn't want people not booking trips because they fear being attacked.

This was reported yesterday and the first checkpoint allows you into the secure TTC:
Hi everyone... first post here. :goodvibes

I am at the at the Poly and walked to TTC yesterday to get to Epcot. We went through security at TTC and again at Epcot. It was around 9am and lines were pretty long, significantly more so at Epcot. Took a mid-day break and went back around 6. Breezed through at that time.

Yes it's available to anyone who actually visits WDW. It's pretty specific to say that there is only one person at this spot, no metal detector, no wand, etc.

Today. That doesn't mean it's that way tomorrow, or later today. Again, worry if you must but it's a waste of grey hairs and worry lines. You are no more unsafe at Disney than you are anywhere else outside your home.

Yeah, I'm not really worried. Just food for thought....

And it seems like Josh from EasyWDW has similar concerns when he stated this - "I don’t like to discuss security protocol much because I “feel” like it undermines what they’re trying to do, but come April 3rd, we’re going to see a lot of changes with how Disney screens guests."

So as of Monday, there is no way you can arrive at Epcot via Monorail without going through security first correct? I really hope plans are in the works to make the Epcot Monorail exit inside security. Then you could pass security once and hop to/from MK as desired.

And much safer at WDW than being inside your home. So pick your risk.

Ok. I disagree. Won't be the first time, or the last. What is discussed is not putting Disney or guests at risk. But if you and he thinks it does, don't discuss it.

I understand your concern on this matter. However, as far as undermining what Disney is trying to do...the thing is what yulilin3 is providing is no different than what any guest can do. However yulilin3 isn't posting that security guards are looking for this type of behavior or that type of behavior. I'm not really certain how the live updating is any different than knowing how airport security is;we know exactly what to do when going through security like the order of things-get id checked, take things off our person and out of our bags like we are supposed to, go through machine, depending on things may get a pat down, etc. However, we only know certain things TSA looks out for and not every tiny security detail.
