afternoon....

I dont really know this group but the fact that pigletsmommy kelly and crossfamily are here makes me think it might not be so sane and well since Im here now Im adding to the disbelief . :rotfl:

Sorry life is hoovering right now. hang in there and do some laundry :)

umm my T broke her hand last night,...just got back from the dr....hardest bone in the hand to break and my skillful child did it with a volleyball. Its also the hardest bone to get to heal properly so we will see the ortho in the morning. She said she would get a red cast and let me stencil Mickey heads on it...Im just hoping it heals before our trip in 56 days.

Hey are you saying your "T" is wonderful just like this "T"? :teeth: You could take mickey heads and use your sharpie to trace them and color them in.. It really does stink that she broke her hand. Um are you trying to tell us you are going to DW in 56 days? :teeth:

Hey gang -- just wanted to let you know something .... I am so glad this thread exists. It is at times my only link to sanity (even though that sounds bizarre in it's own way).

Life HOOVERS the big one right now. I wonder if I will ever see the light at the end of the tunnel, or is it the top of the hole? I can't keep up with my e-mail (have close to 180 of them sitting waiting, even ones from John touching base with me) my sleep is lousy, I am having trouble functioning. All due to some extreme family problems. I am trying to hold everything & everyone together and slowly ,bit by bit, I am losing myself. The ONLY saving grace i have right now is DIS. I check here at least 3 times a day (often more) and I am following the restaurant boards hoping that will make the time to my trip be a bit shorter.

OH on a positive note? Lost another 2.6 lbs this week bringing the total to 32 so far. Just another 5 or so and i will put the brakes on -- just want to fit into a pair of jeans I bought as incentive. :cool1:
Sweetie, you are in my thoughts and prayers everyday, and your family too. I don't know why life is so hard sometimes, but I do believe that there is a purpose over all. Be good to yourself because A) you deserve it, and B) your family needs you. Great job on the weight. Pretty soon we'll have to award you the No-Belly Prize. (Get it? Nobel? No-Belly?)

Hi Sumrmist. I'm danielle. I saw you on the tattoo thread. Glad to see you here.

Hi all. Today was snail day in kindergarten. We had snail races and the kids had a great time. Then I had to clean up slime and poop from 20+ snails. Whoop-te-stinkin'-doo! It was worth it for the kids' sake, but I was having trouble keeping my lunch down. Bleh!

welcome sumrmist! (your screen name sounds like the name of :laundy: to me!) Good luck at the orthropedist this am. Give your DD hugs from us. We'll be at the ortopedist this morning too to see what we need to do for DD.

Jacqueline, hang in there. You know we're here for you! You've been through these kinds of feelings before and have pulled through! Just remember how much we all care!

Danielle, at least the snail races came when you are feeling a little better. Imagine if they were a few days ago when you were really sick...wait that would have been better, the substitute teacher could have been in charge!

Thanks for the welcome. Its your DD with the hurt knee? I hope everything goes well for her. The good thing is shes young and things heal better when they are young. I just hope she doesnt have to miss her sports season. Just remind it it might be for the best to let it heal and she can play sports another time.

Update on sis .. she is very anemic so the surgery is postponed until they can get that and a few other blood things worked out. Surgery should be in about 3 weeks.

Update on why I have been absent so much and then needy when I am here: after numerous doc appointments we finally have proper medical documentation for Emily's university. She needs to be hooked up with certain services but for sure needs to be able to get into a residence that will let her cook her own meals AND have her own bedroom. Many head butting sessions but I think we finally have the last "duck" in a row (little joke there)

We went to the othopedist today. Winnie has a major tear in her meniscus. She is having surgery on Wednesday. She can go back to school the following Monday. Lots of physical therapy in her future! Hopefully she will be back to normal by mid-summer (that sounds so far away). Dr. says that if she is really good and does all of her follow up care diligently, he might be able to let her take her brace off for 1 night on June 6th for her 8th grade formal! That is great incentive for her. This doctor has a wonderful reputation and is just wonderful and encouraging to DD (and me). He explained to her that after physical therapy it's quite possible that she will be an even better athlete, because her knee will be so strong.
