Sorry of there is already a thread, I am quick posting as it starts at 8 CMT! 2 hour season premier tonight! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I CANT WAIT!!! I saw the preview of the first hour but I'm ready for the rest!

Is it just me or does something seem slightly "off" about the show? I'd actually seen the first hour of the premier before Christmas as a sneak-peek on the cable network that carries it here. I can't put my finger on it but the dialogue is stilted and the acting makes the characters seem like a different version of the people they were. That discussion between Raina & Decon about him "thinking about" the album was particularly awkward. :rolleyes1

I hope I'm wrong - I loved this show for the 4 previous seasons and never missed an episode. I was really glad TNN picked it up. I never imagined the show would change when it moved networks though. :(

I was confused by the premier thing since I know for a fact I watched an hour of this already in HULU. LOL. It was pretty meh to me. Could it be that the show has just run it's course?

Oh no..... I DVR'd it and haven't watched, I hope that haven't messed with a good thing. :sad2:

I noticed some differences, the biggest to me was muting the singing even MORE :sad2: The jumping from each character story was a little choppy , but mainly just no where near the light goofy tone that most characters got to show (Gunnar esp) That said I still liked it and clearly we know who this seasons Villain is. Julliette/Hayden was really good and I hope she and Avery continue to get more screen time. Overall the whole show seemed visually dark, and being winter I am after the opposite lol. Nahville is one of DH favorite show as and he said it was "ok" (didn't elaborate much) but he did fall asleep 1/2 way thru the 2nd episode (to be fair, he had a super long day and was wiped) I am glad Daphne got a story line allowing her talent to show thru and Maddie had to put her ego in check. I think that story line was done believably. Guess Luke is gone..but Juliette's assistant got 20 seconds of camera time, lol! Ryana "renting" a classic car for her cross country drive back from CA was a little ridiculous, esp since she knew her company finances are in question...but it's fluff t.v.
I am interested in seeing the new series "Sun Records" that was advertised. I love the era and hope it is accurate in portrayal. the title isn't bad either as I live for the :sunny: :thumbsup2

So, who is going to be Rayna's creepy stalker? The tech mogul from CA or her new assistant at the record label?

Anyone else still watching? Last night's ending..WOW~ I did NOT see that coming. I *should* have with all the type of dialogue Rayna's character had throughout the show, esp with Daphne' . I really like that you get more of a particular story in one episode vs little bits of a lot of storylines.

Still watching. I feel like others do above, the visuals are dark, music is disappearing and things seem "off". Last night made me rethink some of the stories floating around about changes coming with the shift of networks. I feel like most of the time characters are assigned to certain pods of characters & appear mostly only with those characters. I've started to wonder if they've structured things this way so they can contract with actors for X number of episodes to keep costs down and cover for it by hopping from story to story, with some stories only being seen every two or three episodes, and also having a lot of action concern guest players they can pay less. I did think Avery sounded pretty good last night.

Oh I'm sure that has a ton to do with the new structure...I loved Clay's song and I am always on board for hearing /seeing more Avery, lol. I imagine some of the actors would like X amount of episodes as it frees them up for other projects. One thing I didn't care for was Scarlett's new hairstyle being the same as Gunnar's lol

Speaking of Scarlett, how does she go from telling Deacon and Gunnar that she needs time to think about things to the next time we see her, she has already slept with that guy? I mean, I knew she would, but thought they'd lead up to it more.

I like that they focus on particular story lines more instead of so many. I'd be thrilled if I never had to see Juliette's story line again! Keep Avery, though.

As far as the ending last night -- I was not expecting that!

Does anyone else plan on watching Sun Records?

IKR? I thought it was going to be a dream when they showed her at the window and the producer dude walked in...I agree completely with zero lead in. I am just hoping it isn't Gunnar who caused the crash, as in upset over Scarlett, drinking and driving etc. I also wondered how Maddie wasn't home yet, that she gets the call in the car. She left the same time Rayna did..and Rayna gets held hostage and to the hospital before Maddie even gets back? Maybe the house is THAT far away? lol

DH and I both like the longer story lines and Juliette's is ok to me, but not if she's gonna do a complete 180. Yes, MORE Avery!

I plan on watching Sun Records..even tho I feel like we have seen it already from the lengthy and repetitive previews, lol. Not feeling the Elvis character so far tho but we are going to give it a shot.

That's so weird that you said that about Gunnar because I'm convinced that whoever hit her, will be someone we know, but for whatever reason, Gunnar hadn't even crossed my mind. I wouldn't be surprised if you're right! After Clay's show, it was still daylight -- you're so right about all of that happening to Rayna, and Maddie wasn't even home yet!

We're gonna watch Sun Records, too, but they'll be taking an awful lot of creative license in their storytelling, I think.

Thank you for saying that. I thought I had lost my mind, because I was sure I was watching while wide awake & couldn't figure out what in the world led to Scarlett suddenly being in that hotel room.

Realized last week the stories about what would happen to the show on the new network were true and she was a goner. Costs had to be cut, and she was no doubt the biggest. Since I didn't have much faith they could both keep Rayna and Deacon together and give them something besides constant relationship angst or the hideous Maddie nonsense, I think I'm ready to accept it.

Adore Connie Britton, just didn't enjoy lots of Rayna as the series went on. The one thing I'm curious about is the fact she had moved permanently to Nashville because she decided she loved it there. Large part of the convenience of it has ended.
