Anyone get this in the mail yet and call for details? (I'm waiting for a return call now) I'm pretty annoyed.......I **JUST** closed about a week ago on a 100 point add-on and *****NO****** mention was ever made that Saratoga would be available right after I "closed" and it's for FIFTY years, not THIRTY!!!!! What the hell? (and --- I did not get a "backpack" either, as some other people have mentioned--- sheesh----it's all about getting new customers and not taking care of the ones who have already spent 25k I guess!) I hate to be negative, but I'm really ticked off, and this is the first time I've had a negative experience at all with DVC (bought in '00). I'm axiously awaiting my sales rep's return call to see what she responds with.........

find Doc's post - there are a couple of them

If you did your add on at BCV it is for 38 years - and the resale of BCV will be higher than SSR even with the extra years.

Why?

BCV is the closest DVC resort to a theme park - Epcot - and it has SALB - which no DVC member can hop to - you must stay at BCV to use this pool.

If you like the wine/food festavial - you might began to understand the attraction of BCV. It is also close enough to BW for the fun things over there.

now if you would rather shop (DD) and party (PI) than go to a theme park (Epcot/Studios) - then definitely tell your guide that you are unhappy with your choice.

Thanks for your response, spiceycat....that is exactly what I needed....just a little info.....I hate being left swinging in the wind (or feeling that way, anyway!). I will let you all know what my guide says.....still waiting......

It is annoying that they did not tell people but I see it as the way that real estate works.

If an agent has a house up for sale at $100,000 and knows that the house next door that is twice as big will go on the market tomorrow for $100,000 also there is no way the agent is going to tell you. If the agent thinks you will close on the original house he knows good and well he can sell the better deal to someone else.

They have been telling us that SSR was on the drawing board. Some people might have been upset if they were put off from their desire to do an add-on elsewhere because SSR was coming up. Also, the guides cannot legally sell the resort until all the legal papers are in order. They can't even say that a resort WILL be a DVC, just that it is "proposed".

Call your guide and consider your options. If you'd like SSR instead, they may be able to work with you. You are not the first person who was upset.
