New rule

I've never liked this rule. Sometimes you post in haste, why must you repent in leisure?

Suppose you realize what you said sounded snarky or point-worthy and that was not your intention. I think we should be able to edit our posts and the edit should carry over to the quoted post.

while I believe this is true,

its just no fun guessing what was edited...

The first person to reply on any thread needs to quote the OP. That way when someone does the delete of nevermind edit we know what was there.

the problem is that some people would post stuff designed to inflame other dis'ers, then change their post and report them to the mods for "offensive" posts.

OR they would change their post and then say they either never posted that, or they would add stuff, then say that the people replying didn't read their post correctly.

no...the new rule is the only way to go!!

OR they would change their post and then say they either never posted that, or they would add stuff, then say that the people replying didn't read their post correctly.

Good question!! I didn't make the rule so take it FWiW, I would quote all threads because you just never know when a thread may take a turn. At that point someone will wish the OP had been quoted.

Not too long ago there was thread (don't even remember what it was about) and someone thought I did or said something but it wasn't me so I was looking for a 'oh no' type of picture and I came across that one and it cracked me up. I just love Richard Simmons so I decided to keep it.

A while back TMZ (yes, I watch mindless TV, quite often too) caught up with him at an ariport. He was his same self which is to say hysterical!! Even at his age he was still just bursting with energy, more energy than I have. I get tired just watching him.
