New Road to The Kingdom

There is a new toll road expressway called 429...it comes off the Florida Turnpike and comes down to the Irlo Bronson (192) in Kisseemmee...We used it a couple weeks ago..and no cars on it hardly at all..it drops you off a couple miles from WDW..I am sure it will become the new way to the Kingdom!

Is that the road that I've been reading about that Disney is helping finance? I think it is called something like "Western Way" or something similar. I believe it was scheduled to complete sometime in the Spring, or at least a portion of it. I am anxious to try this out on our trip in May/June. I'm so used to the other route, I'm afraid I might get lost, though!

Currently 429 runs out to 192 where you can come into property by Animal Kingdom. Once it is done it will have an entrance right off of it that will come in next to Coronado Springs Resort. They already have the Coronado part nearly finished (you can see the Big Walt Disney World Archway from the expressway) but the road is not complete all the way to 429 yet. Eventually this road will go all the way out to I-4 as well. This is the Western Expressway (Beltway...whatever they are calling it)... As a local we LOVE it...You can get from one side of Orlando to the other in about 20 minutes (which used to take us about 45 to an hour with traffic....

I'm still waiting for that road that exits Disney to the Northwest straight to Ocala instead of having to travel up 4 to the toll road.

The new road is part of the Western Beltway. It is called toll road 429. Disney donated money and land to the project. Western way is the new road that Disney is building on its property that will connect Buena Vista Drive to the new toll road 429.

So should we plan on using this new road for a trip the last week of March? If so, where would we exit for Coronado? We are coming down from Ohio via 95.

If you will be taking 95 all the way to I-4 then this road will not help you. This way will be much quicker but only if you are using the Turnpike/75.

Thanks for the quick reply. We will be staying in Savannah the night before. Is 95 the best way to come in or should we look at a different route?

We always use the Oceola Parkway from the turnpike. It's $1.50 and it's SO quick. Dumps you off right on property, right under the Welcome signs and by Pop Century. Very easy and can't believe we used to always take turnpike to I-4 and up to Disney, dummy us.
