This is going to be in the Timbuktu area, they are moving another ride out to make room for it. Construction has begun and it is expected to be open in the spring of 2014.

According to the BGT blog -

Falcon's Fury will stand at 335 feet and take riders soaring 60 mph straight down. Located in the Timbuktu™ area, Falcon's Fury will be visible from any location in the park and even across the Tampa Bay area.

At the ride's highest point Busch Gardens has added an element of surprise. Like its bird of prey namesake, riders will pivot 90 degrees in midair to a face-down dive position. An instant later they'll plunge 60 mph at 3.5 Gs straight down with speed and power like they've likely never experienced before.

Oh yeah can't wait. As soon as this pregnancy is over I want to plan a trip to BGs. I need my coaster fix.

It's going to be a one of a kind drop tower, there's other tall ones out there but this one will be unique as what they're saying the seats will tilt you 90 degrees where you're basically laying flat looking down.I've been on Acrophobia at Six Flags over Georgia which also supposedly tilts your seat so you're looking down more but I rode it and barely noticed any tilt.On Falcon's Fury it's supposed to be a major thing,so I can't wait for it to be built and see just how much it will tilt and when it will tilt, right before it drops would freak everyone out.

My husband will love this. I hope it's open for our May/June trip next year.

Construction starts in spring of 2014. I don't think it will be ready it takes close to a yr not more to get a roller coaster constructed.

Construction on it has already begin, at least getting the general area ready, I don't think the ride itself is going up yet. It should be open in spring 2014, so May or June could be a possibility.

My bad I saw construction and spring 2014 so I thought that was when it started. Ok that sounds even better. Now I can plan a summer trip there next yr since baby is due nov this yr.

Thank you for correcting me. :)

It has been officially announced that Falcon's Fury will open on May 1.

I don't think I have it in me to do this! I can't wait to see it, though. We'll be there second week of May!

Due to some construction delays the grand opening of Falcon has been delayed. I have not heard exactly what caused the construction issues, and I have not heard of when the new grand opening will be.

Yeah I had heard that,I know there's a video of Falcon's Fury on Youtube showing one of the cylinders behind the seats coming loose and hitting the tower.I'm assuming that might have to do something with the delay.I was planning on going May 15th just for the ride,I guess I might have to postpone it.Here's the video. You can see the cylinder hitting the tower in the last drops in the video, like from 1:20 on in the video.

I jut heard that the pass member preview has been postponed, with no announced date for a reschedule.

Reading between the lines - either this ride will not be open for a substantial amount of time OR they have absolutely no idea when it might be ready and don't want to cancel another preview.

The talk on another forum makes it seem like the rides delay likely won't be too bad. There's a POV video all over the net showing what you're going to experience on the ride and to sum it up with one word,NUTS!!!

BGT has now posted on their blog that FF opening will be delayed until later this summer -

Busch Gardens’ new thrill ride Falcon’s Fury includes first-of-its kind design elements, systems and parts. Due to a delay in the fabrication of key component parts, neither the manufacturer nor Busch Gardens are able to complete the lengthy testing processes needed to open the ride to the public. The safety of our guests and team members remains Busch Gardens’ top priority and none of these delays involve safety systems. The ride has been safely operated in the initial stages of the testing process, and all other elements of the park’s newest re-imagined land Pantopia are now open to guests. Busch Gardens will provide updates on the ride opening as events warrant. We are committed to delivering world-class thrills and the best possible ride experience, and we look forward to the launch of Falcon’s Fury, North America’s tallest freestanding drop tower, later this summer.

Falcon's Fury is now open as of today.

They have been doing some ride testing and had some soft open ride periods, but they should be completely open now.

I've watched several video of the ride and I'm still not sure if I'm going to ride it or not. Being a bigger guy, the rides where you're suspended by the restraints make me a little nervous. On Manta, you can see a giant bolt lock into place plus a secondary restraint. Hydraulics + seat belt I'm not so sure.

We were at BG for Labor Day weekend, and on Saturday (the day we were in that area of the park), the ride was not "open" but they were allowing people to "test" it.

DH isn't sure about riding it. He is 6'4" and isn't sure if he has enough faith in the restraint system.

I was at Busch Gardens on Tuesday and rode Falcon's Fury twice. It is a nerve wracking experience but much worse in anticipation than anything the ride itself. I am not afraid of heights, so it was no big deal for me but any height phobia will come out in this ride.

The seats and restraints are very well crafted. I fit nicely on the end seats. The over-the-shoulder restraint is latched to a belt attached between your legs. Very sturdy and the belt is adjustable so bigger and smaller people can use any seat.

Very wheelchair accessible as long as you can get out of the chair. I saw a guy with leg cast load with his friend's help. Once locked in, you are not falling out.

Thanks for the review. How would you compare the restraints fit compared to other rides in Central Florida? I normally need to ride in the big boy seats on Dragon Challenge, Montu, etc. I've ridden Tatsu (a flyer similar to Manta but I was a few lbs lighter then).
