I see on Twitter that there will be a new Restaurant Review on today's podcast. Yay!!!

But what does it say about me that I hope its a bad review??? Kevin & John's reviews are so entertaining when the dining experience was bad. :duck:

Love dining reviews!

This cannot end well... :)

(just getting online to watch...interesting that I couldn't find it on YouTube directly, but on the podcast page...)

It was a very helpful review, I'll put it that way.
I am going on a mission to find a positive review from Kevin about any park dining.

Not sure if you are being facetious or if you aren't looking hard enough

I like Jiko, Earl of Sandwich, Sleepy Hollow Waffle Sandwiches, Brown Derby, Narcoissree's, Monsieur Paul, Tangerine Cafe, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Morimoto, parts of the Boathouse, Olivia's, the fish and chips in England, Tutto Italia.....I even like Nine Dragons.

Hope that helps in your search.

So Kevin, I watched the Podcast today and the review of Hollywood & Vine. We have reservations for the Beach Bash dinner with Minnie and Friends this July with our 6 year old and 12 year old daughters (with Fantasmic package). Since you said it's targeted more towards kids, do you think mine will enjoy it? (I figure, we won't have to wait in lines to see these characters or look for them in the parks...)

I think your kids will love the characters and not even notice the food.

Trust me, that was facetious. I assume it is how youtube ranks things, but your most popular reviews are the Soup Kitchen Thanksgiving and Coral Reef. You have made the same comment I make to my wife too often, 'it was good, but for the price should be much better'. I would rather eat Narcoossee's food and the California Grill, but imagine how much breakfast from Waffle House would cost with the view from the top of the Contemporary when Wish's started.

That's exactly how YouTube does it. There have been numerous occasions when I've gone to YT looking for one of Kevin/John's dining reviews that I've yet to hear, only to see those classics(Coral Reef, Liberty Square Tavern, Ohana) listed first, and I found myself going back and listening to those again instead. So there are still several I haven't watched yet.

It's kind of like when there are eight movies listed at any given time on my television screen that I've yet to see, but "Ocean's Eleven" or "Shawshank Redemption" is also listed. I just keep going back to what I already know and love.

It's so difficult to look back over all of the reviews, but we are making our ADRs tonight for our July trip. H&V has never been on our radar, ironically Liberty Tree remains a must do for us for lunch. I need 50's Prime Time to be reviewed as a gauge now.

I'm always afraid to poke my head out of the foxhole and say this, so thanks for giving me the courage. I agree. The times that I have been, I have enjoyed my meals. I don't live in one of those places where people are quick to bemoan: "I can get better Chinese food at a dozen places within 5 minutes of my house." If that is true, I'm happy for you. But it doesn't apply to me.

It's been 14 months since we ate there, so I'm sure there are better people to listen to, but we were disappointed with 50's. The food was pretty average and the wait was REALLY long(we were in there for 90 minutes or so, if my memory is correct). We loved the atmosphere and the server was terrific(it seemed to just be a kitchen slowdown), so we really WANTED it to live up to everyone's hype, but we wouldn't go back there again unless we were just having a really lazy day at the park and didn't mind the long wait.

That PB/J milkshake, though....epic.

We went to Minnie's Holiday Dine last month. The food was exactly the same, except the desserts had green and red sprinkles rather than silver balls.

We enjoyed it. The character outfits were pretty. The turkey was tasty.

One comment really hit home for me. I hadn't been to WDW since the last Disapalooza. We have become a DL family. The character interaction at DL is amazing. Something I really missed last month.

I love Kevin's reviews! Even when I have a different opinion (we love O'hana), I always enjoy his perspective and the level of detail and especially the dynamic back and forth between him and John. Kevin could talk about laundry detergent and I'd probably find it entertaining. He's a great storyteller!!

Just watched the Minnie's Silver Screen Dining Review - spit my seltzer out at Pete calling Doc McStuffins "Dr. FeelGood", (and Jackie's quiet comment about "that's a different theme park" - brilliant! - LOL) and watching him and John dissolve into laughter; also remembering the whole "Doc McStuffins" conversation from an earlier show. Good times, thanx for the laughs! :rotfl:

I think the question at the end of the podcast was such a good one (the one from these boards: would you eat at California Grill if it weren't for the view...). It is worth applying that criteria to other Disney restaurants: Would you eat there if it were in your hometown or nearby? Would you eat there (in Disney) if there were no character interactions? And so forth. For me, for example, I would absolutely go to Hollywood Brown Derby if it were in my hometown. And if there were a Dole Whip stand nearby? I'd be there every other day!
