I like the new color choices for the lids. I think I already have a red one, a yellow one, and a black one, since those have been the only options for so long. I hope the new ones are still available when I go next.

I feel like they are an improvement over the past couple years, and are light years ahead of the monochromatic blue "Year of a Million Churros" design. Glad Disney is springing for an actual palate of colors for the mugs instead of trying to go cheap with just 3-4 hues.

I guess I'll get a yellow one as DD has already called dibs on pink, and DW likewise for teal...

Have our expectations of Disney sunk so low that people now get excited over a generic 'Disney Parks" mug?

Sure, the mug looks alright, but I don't spend my precious vacation at Disney Parks. I spend my vacation at, for instance, the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World.

There used to be resort specific mugs, of course, and while Disney certainly doesn't have to go the resort-specific route to create an interesting product, there is nothing remarkable about a generic design for everywhere.

Sure, the mug looks alright, but I don't spend my precious vacation at Disney Parks. I spend my vacation at, for instance, the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World.

There used to be resort specific mugs, of course, and while Disney certainly doesn't have to go the resort-specific route to create an interesting product, there is nothing remarkable about a generic design for everywhere.

My point was, that if they're going to stick us with a generic design, it can at least be an attractive and colorful generic design. I still treasure my WL, AKL, and PO mugs. I long for the resort-specific merchandise, but as with women...cheap and attractive is better than cheap and ugly.

Does this mean, these are the only mugs that can be used during 2011?

I still can't get over the reality that having mugs or tshirts or ball caps with a hotel name on it....sold en mass for dollars on the penny...have been deemed "too much overhead" by the beaners...

screen printing much be ALOT more expensive than it used to be....like a bazillion dollars or something

I agree I can go to Cafe Press and create my own individual mug.. how much is Disney really saving with such penny pinching measures?

I personally don't care what's on it just glad for it. I mean $13.99 for all u can drink for your stay while at resort is great!! I live in Ohio and work for a major amusement park and I am sure our guests would love this just for the day. We used to have it and then they changed it to that price range and then a cheaper amt for refills. I love Disney's refillable mugs and love adding them to our portable mug collection at home. Some people are just toooooooo picky!

No offense...but i think you missed the point.

Nobody is debating the mugs or their cost...they are more than a good deal in 99.9% of the cases.

What some are against is that they have generic "walt disney world" or even more generic "disney parks" designs that are used everywhere...when the original mugs had designs to reflect the resorts that they were purchased at.

It was more unique, you could collect them like souvenirs over time, and they were more of a momento of a specific trip.

heck...they even were better for WDW - as many would not use a "yacht club" logo mug at all stars or something of that sort. it probably led to less "abuse" of the drink fountains.

But they just decided its too tedious to order different merchandise - which may not be a big deal in mugs...but it is indicative of a bigger problem with merchandise...visit any giftshop and see

Oh I agree I would like one with my resort on it and agree it would also stop abuse of it as well. I just am greatful for the mug all together...We didn't get one in 2009 and said we would never make that mistake again even though we were only there for 1 nt before our DCL cruise. I don't care if it just has a Mickey ear, I am just glad they have them....
