Oh, darn the luck! Well, maybe since September has kind of been designated as the free dining month, maybe Visa will offer something or maybe there will be a general code like they did last year. Oh well - congrats to those who are able to take advantage of this offer.

I'm not gonna' stop whining for a while yet. I was at WDW this year from Aug 14-28, hoping to get free dining, and since I already booked airfare, I went anyway and paid for the dining plan. I heard the earlier rumours about the bounce back being available during this year's free dining period, and I looked and looked and looked after Aug 26th, to no avail. Now I see it available from Aug 31st and I AM TICKED!!!! We had already planned on not returning for at least 3 years (after 7 trips in 6 years), so maybe this is a good thing that I can't book, BUT I'M STILL GONNA' WHINE FOR A FEW MORE DAYS!

I'll whine with you. Last year we were in WDW and came home the end of October so just missed the BBP booking date. Booked my summer reservation for Aug. 15-24, and hoping for the free ddp/visa offer. Afterall the dates for the UK folks and BBP folks was most of August, then they didn't offer it to the GP or Visa folks for most of August, so missed it again. Then I got the 40% off the room offer, but again missed it because it was for reservations beginning August 22 and we were arriving Aug. 15th. I figured my "mojo" is way off and now I see that trend will continue for me. At least I don't have to make a short trip in December now to book next summer, because September will not work for me. We go in August for 10 days, then return in October for the last 2 weeks, so no way to go in September.

Here's a thought!! maybe the bbp will be for September and the Visa and GP offer will be for August & September, now that would work!!

We are at the Polynesian right now and got an offer for next Sept for free dining in our room when we got back today. It says in order to take advantage of this offer, that we have to book it and make a deposit of $200 on or prior to your check out date (which must be on or before 9/28). It also says that we will enjoy a savings of $189.

It has the dates of 8/30 - 9/27 for check in on the sheet they left us.

OK, I need a nap. I think I got this totally wrong. I believe you are saying that if you are staying between 9/30-9/27/2007 you can book for 2008. I hope this is right. We arrive on the 27th! Thanks all. It helps when I read the whole thread. I was just soooo excited!

Well, waddaya know? WDW actually has a promo going on when we're going to be there for a change. We will arrive there TOMORROW , and check out on 9/09.

I try to think of it this way - DSis and I will be missing out on the HM and SE refurbs because of the timing of our trip , so knowing this offer will be there when we arrive tomorrow makes me feel a little better.

Well, for those of you who can use the Free Dining offer to your advantage, CONGRATS !!!!!!

BUT, last year we booked the free dining bounceback for POLY while we were at POR at Thanksgiving....its only me and DW. NO kids.

We have stayed at WDW so many times, we know what our eating habits are. So, once the mouse started spinning the wheel in my head...it was better for us to have the AP Room Rate vs. Free Dining.

We just got back from our trip. Aug 8th to Aug 19th at the POLY. AP Room Rate of $249.00 per night plus tax....total room only was $3081.

With FREE Dining...it was going to be $4550.00. With no AP Room Discount. We have the DDE Card also. And with Free Dining, well the DDE Card is useless.

Therefore, i kept a VERY close eye on our eating spending this trip. It has been determined we spent +/- $720.00 on food, snacks & alcohol. We SAVED +/- $750.00 by NOT using the free dining. The AP Room Rate and DDE Card was more of a money saver for us.

So, if this is your first time...BEWARE.

DISNEY IS A BUSINESS. IF SOMETHING SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT USUALLY IS.

If you are staying at the Values, the Free Dining is a no brainer (for 2007). For $82 + tax per night, we are getting two adults worth of dining plan for September 13 -19.

The AP rate for the September time frame values is $64 per night, only an $18 reduction in the room rate. With free dining, the room rate drops to almost $0.00 (that only counts the cost of the plan, not the value of the actual food eaten, which can drop the room rate to a Negative number.)

Just remember the changes to the dining plan for 2008. It will no longer be as "free" as it was with the gratuities now excluded ( plus no appetizer for adults ). It's still a great deal but it does add to the total cost of your trip when you consider adding an 18% minimum gratuity to your TS meals. I have a feeling some of the other promos, if offered, might be a better overall value, esp. for those choosing a mod or deluxe resort. Still, better to book it if possible and you can always change it to something else...if something better comes out. ---Kathy

I've stopped whining WAY sooner than I thought I would. By missing this promo by 3 days, I'm saving at least $5,000 by sticking with our original plan to skip a year or 2. However, now that I've resigned myself to missing the promo, it will likely be made available to the general public, and the debate will start all over again.

I just returned from Pop this afternoon. We were offered the bounceback promotion, but it begins on August 30, 2008. Since Labor Day is September 1st, next year, it doesn't give us enough time before school starts. Unfortunately, I had to pass on the offer.

If you check in the last day it is offered, do you think you still can get the discount for your whole stay? Can anyone confirm this either way for us, please?

I know the Dec code cut off on the 23rd no matter what, so I am wondering if that will always be the case now.
