New Promo coming....I think

I'm saving at least $5,000 by sticking with our original plan to skip a year or 2. However, now that I've resigned myself to missing the promo, it will likely be made available to the general public, and the debate will start all over again.:rotfl:

Yes, but Disney math is known as Fuzzy math so somehow you would be saving money if you took advantage of this offer. Trust me. :lmao:

OK...I just got home from Disney yesterday 8/29. I stayed in POFQ and got a receipt that had same message at the bottom that I got when I was there in December for Bounce back. I walked over to Riverside to find out more info.(as the receipt says) and no one knew what I was talking about. I found the evening manager and he was able to find out that a new promo was going to start at the end of the month called "resort future stay" but I couldn't book it because it didn't start yet. I asked him why it was being printed on receipts now to book...he agreed that it shouldn't be printed if it's not out. I did call guest services and they said that it was for free dining 2008 but it wasn't going to start until August 30-September 30. I couldn't go during those dates so I quit my fight.
Maybe others there now will be reporting soon.

Oh, I would be so excited if I got this... but I have a question... We are arriving on 9/21... are bounceback offers offered to those that booked through AAA as well or are they for only those that booked directly with Disney?????

I have to admit, I am disappointed that I booked with AAA, it appears that I might have been able to get some better deals with codes and such... OH Well, Live and Learn I guess!

YES! As long as you're a registered guest at a Disney resort during the promo dates - and you call from your room to set the appointment - you'll be able to book the deal. :yay: Make the call early in your stay -- it can't be booked after you check out, as many learned last year. :guilty:

And don't fret thinking you might have done better, this trip, had you not booked with AAA - the other deals and codes are never a sure thing; AAA is (and they do save many of us a significant amount of $$$$) :thumbsup2

I wonder if going to our DVC in Sept. will also count as a resort stay? We would gladly stay at a mod to get free dining rather than pay for it a DVC.

Anyone know?

I'm going crazy!!''

Yesterday on the resort or Theme Park board a nice Dis'er posted that they called to book the promo - bounce back - and was quoted prices for Pop with the Free Dining - or they could book the Deluxe Dining and were quoted another rate -

Am I the only one that read that????

I certainly cant find it today!!

Since we are headed down in jus 4 days we will be in a position to book the 'bounceback' but I have some thoughts.

The Values (which is where we stay) are a much better deal than the other resorts for the 'free' dining.

I agree with the other poster who pointed out that we will now have to add in the cost of tips ($10-20 a day per couple).

The cost of the room will be way up for those of us who stay more than 5 days since we will be paying weekend rates. (does anyone know the difference between weekday and weekend rates at the Values, the website is down)?

Might be worth it to see if they offer some sort of room only rate next year.

Can I book and then cancel without penalty 45 days out or switch to a Spring trip if I later find out it is not worth it?

So many questions, so little time. Back to packing for me.

Thanks, SG/Linda

If you check in the last day it is offered, do you think you still can get the discount for your whole stay? Can anyone confirm this either way for us, please?

I know the Dec code cut off on the 23rd no matter what, so I am wondering if that will always be the case now.

As far as i know ,for free dining this year, as long as you were checked in by the promo ending date the offer was good for your entire stay(up to 10 days i think).
My family and i will be staying at POP w/free dining in 10 days  and if we our offered the bounceback program for 2008 we are going to try and book for 9/27(last day of 2008 promo) - 10/04. Maybe when i get back from WDW in 18 days i can confirm that this can still be done. That is if one of the other helpful DIS'ers hasn't already done so by then.:cool1:

I'm soooo excited to hear this! We check into POP on 9/27! Just in time!!

And DH said we could only go back next year if they offered the free dining!!! WHOOOOO HHOOOOOOO!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay: :dance3: :dance3:

slighty goofy,
the weekend rate at the values is $82, no change of rate for rack rate during the week. either way, it is $82 a night.

you have to put $200 down when you make the ressie but you can get it all refunded if you cancel 45 days out from arrival date.

if you find a better deal that comes out later, you can modify your ressie.
your deposit would not transfer but be refunded to you if you do not stay with a package. (such as go with a room only ressie)

We check in on 9/21, and will be booking our bounceback stay that first night. The dates aren't perfect (would have preferred early August like last year's Nov/Dec bouncebackers got), but we don't want to take a chance on missing out entirely.

Now, if it turns out it's going to be not possible because of dd's school, or if we get a better (date-wise) bounceback offer either when we're there in Dec or as a general public offer in the spring, or if we decide we'd be better off ($$-wise) with an AP discount/DDE at that time (or earlier in August), then we'll cancel. The only cost to book is the (refundable) $200 deposit, which we'll put on the Disney VISA to get the 6 months 0% interest, so why not? It's just my opinion, but if you're going to be there anyway, and you think there's any chance you might want to go, and you can spare the $200 (which is refundable), then you shouldn't even hesitate about booking a return stay.

3 years in a row of free dining--woo-hoo! :woohoo:

9/27 is the final day of free dining for 2008 (at least that is what has been reported on these boards) But 2007's free dining promo ends 9/22.
I don't know if the "bounceback" is only offered to those who are staying within the dates of the 2007 promo (8/26 - 9/22) or not?????
I just don't want to see someone get exicited looking forward to an offer they may not recieve? Maybe someone more experienced with the "bounceback" offer could clarify????????

I read that also!! The poster said they could book the standard dining plan(free) or opt to take the deluxe dining plan with an approx. 50% off the standard deluxe ddp price.

EDIT TO ADD: Here is the link to that thread>>>>>http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1567361

So this is what I found on Mousesavers....I'll be there during the promotion 2 days of it. Why wouldn't I be qualified for it?

Bounceback Free Dining Promotion
This offer is available ONLY to guests staying at one of the official Walt Disney World resorts between 8/31/07-9/28/07.

Using a special phone number provided on some resort restaurant receipts or on a flyer provided in some resort rooms, you can book a vacation package for next year, for stays between 8/30/08-9/27/08, at a Walt Disney World resort with theme park tickets and receive the Dining Plan for FREE.

If you don't get the offer on a receipt or a flyer in your room, I recommend asking at the front desk.

There is a 3-night minimum stay requirement. Reservation for 2008 must be made before you check out and no later than September 28 to qualify. A $200 deposit is required at time of reservation.

Yes, you are qualified:thumbsup2 I didn't know if it was only offered to those staying during the 2007 promo which ends 9/22. That info from mousesavers clears up what i was wondering!!:hippie:

OK, so I'm guessing the Mousesavers info is the official line then? I've been reading some conflicting info - specifically the last day you can book. I've seen some say you had to book by the 27th and some say the 28th. I've been wanting to plan a long weekend anyway and with this promo I want to try and squeeze it in while the booking window is open. I was thinking about heading down on the 26th but talked to the office manager at work today (she's a family friend that happened to call the house - wasn't bothering her on her long weekend off over my Disney obsession :rotfl: ) and two people are already taking those days off before the weekend. Best I can do is fly down Friday night after work and take Monday and Tuesday off. But of course Friday is the 28th, so if the booking window closed on the 27th then it'd be a bit of a waste.

My two friends and I are headed to see ºoº in 13 days. I was VERY happy to see information about this promotion (and that the timing works perfectly with our travel dates). I don't know if they are interested in a repeat trip next year (can you imagine not wanting to go back ?!?!?!), but if not, I'm pretty sure that I will go a head and make a reservation. I'm sure I could find SOMEONE :) to go .

Does anyone know if the bounce back free dining dates offered previously (last year for 2007) were the same dates that were offered in the spring to Disney Visa and the public? I'm just wondering because we are planning a trip for next August and we were hoping to catch the last week of the free dining offer which was the week before Labor Day this year. I can't come any later because my college age son starts school the day after Labor Day- unless we go without him like we did in 2005 (he still hasn't forgiven us for that). :sad2:

no, the dates offered to the bounceback guests started earlier in august than the public free dining offer that came out in april. sorry i don't remember the exact dates, but it was later than the UK offer and earlier than the general public offer.

I called when I was at CSR. The bounceback free dining rates are 8/30-9/30.

These dates don't work with me-- my kids have school and I will have student teaching!
