So current princesses were spun into the world of Sofia, and then Sofia spun another new princess? Huh. Go figure. I find it interesting that she is easily getting a meet and greet but poor Miles from Tomorrowland (and family) would be a great addition that isn't quite so gender specific.

I agree, why isn't Miles from Tomorrowland in the parks anywhere? He would be a great addition to Tomorrowland or back by the Disney Junior area. I was even hoping he would take Handy Manny's place at Hollywood and Vine. My son would love it because he is a huge fan.

I wonder how they make their character decisions. . . I definitely haven't followed in detail, but I thought usually a movie or show came out and the characters, if popular, appeared later. Interesting decision to introduce the new show and the character meet at the same time.

The first thing that came to my mind about why Princess Elena might have been rushed out... the Hispanic populations in Florida and Southern California are both very big... Just saying.

There's also the fact that they tried to pass Sofia off as Latina until it was pointed out that there was absolutely nothing Latina about her, so they had to admit she actually isn't Latina & try again.

It's not uncommon for a character appearance to coincide with the release of their show/film without waiting for popularity to grow

Hiro and Baymax appeared the same weekend the movie was released
Merida officially started meeting May 18th, 2012 with the movie released June 22nd
Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope started meeting November 2012, either the week of or the week following the movie release
Tiana started meeting October 2009, with the movie being released November 2009

Just a guess, but the Disney Store can be telling about things at times. All of the Miles stuff is in the clearance section along with the Good Dinosaur(which was a flop for some reason) and season specific items. Meanwhile all the Frozen stuff continues to sell full priced almost 2 years later. I'm guessing Miles may not be meeting(or didn't meet) their expectations.

Agree. Miles from Tomorrowland is MADE for the Theme Parks. I mean his family works for the TTA which is the fictional Transit Authority that is all over Tomorrowland (less so since Tomorrowland was taken over by Buzz, Stitch and Laugh Floor) . .but still.
