I am looking for info on the 1600 - 1900 loops

We usually stay in the 100-200 loops, but have stayed in the 400 & 500 - stilll all within an easy walk to the marina/ settlement/ bus

Now with the new preferred/ premium loops there is a better than 50% chance we may not be there this time, because if we don't get into the 100 or 200 we can't be put across the street into 400 as it is now premium.

How do all of you get around? We take our bikes, have ridden the internal buses, and walk, so any of those are options. I wonder how far is it from the back of these loops up to the bus stop - how far is it to the pool, things like that.

I am looking for internal transportation advice, not to the parks

TIA

I always stay in these loops, and in fact just got back from staying in the 1800 loop.

We always take bikes to get around. Very easy. There is a bus stop next to the 1600 loop. The meadows is actually a pretty short walk and an even shorter bike ride from this area.

I've never measured it, but would guess the furtherist site is less than 200 yards (i.e. two football fields). The closest is the 1/2 of the 1600 loop that is near the road and those backing to the 1500 loop. If you look at a map there is a bus stop at the entrance two the 1600-1900 loops on the 1600 side and another at the entrance to the 1500 loop again on the 1600 side.

We've always stayed preferred(pet). 15 months ago when I made my upcoming reservation--premium wasn't an option. I've called several times and have been unable to upgrade our current preferred to premium site. It really bums me out that we have a big chance of ending up in the 1600-1900 area. We stay for several weeks and rely on our bikes to get around. Come Jan. that's gonna be a long, dark, cold ride late at night to get to our site. I don't even wanna think about how many times I'd ride to TE to get my mug refilled in the past---can't see that happening as often either.

It's really not so bad on my side of the tracks.

You could always consider renting a golf cart either from disney or a outside company there have been a few listed lately disney should be 57 a day thats what we just paid last week as of jan that might change not sure you could check with the front desk or maybe the bike barn when i made ressies he bike barn housed the carts now they are at the front by check in so not sure who you need to contact

We were just in site 1639. It was next to the road, but vehicle noise was negligible. The bus stop was 3 sites away, about a 12 second walk (lol). The buses are constant, I don't think waiting for a bus was ever more than a few minutes.

The Meadows Trading Post was across the street, you just walk across a footbridge to get to it.

We never had any problem getting anywhere.

Thanks,
that is kind of what we figured that it would be ok - just a new experience for us and we'd be closer to the pool I think:thumbsup2

We in the 1900 loop right now. It does seem far from the bus stop (compared to some of the other loops). If you have small children, then I would consider getting a golf cart or using your own stroller if you are in 1800 or 1900. I didn't want 1900 before we got here, but it really hasn't been a bad site at all (we would stay in this loop again). We rented a golf cart, because we have a toddler, but I think the walk to the bus stop would be a great way to get your blood pumping in the morning.

Sites from around 1632 to 1639 are our favorites (a few sites either side of the walkway to the 1500/1600 CS). Just a hop, skip or at worst a hop, skip and jump from either the CS or the Bus Stop and only a short walk to the Meadows.

Well, just measured it when I took DW to settlement for Sunday paper and from the 1600 loop to the very back of the 1800 loop is .25mi or 440 yds. If you cut thru the loop directly across from the 1600 bus stop over to the pathway to the Meadows I would guess that the total distance from the furtherest 1800 or 1900 site would be around 1/2 mile or a tad more.

Thanks everyone - that is still very doable for our kids and myslef with ankle brace. I am happy now I don't have to stress about what if we don't get our loop. I can concentrate on just having fun wherever I am!
Thanks Larry for the on the spot measuring - my kids are glad to know how far the pool is :thumbsup2
