New Pool At Grande Vista

The new pool complex at Marriott's Grande Vista will open on June 4. This should be great for all summer bookings.

We'll be there May 8-15. I was hoping for an early opening, but it should be great for those of you going in the summer! I guess we'll have to beg Mom and Dad to take us again in a few years!

Spiceycat--that is so cool that we will be there at the same time. My parents are owners at the Grande Vista. We went with them two years ago, and they very generously offered again for my 40th birthday present. Before we went with them last time, I couldn't imagine ever staying off-site, but it was wonderful and the drive wasn't bad at all. I especially liked having the kitchen and laundry facilities.

I am not expecting the new pool complex to be open, but I'd love to be surprised!

I guess I'll have to sport some lime green down near the pool...maybe we'll see each other.

Cannot wait will be there in August for 4 days. I was just wondering, how crowded are the other pools? How many are there, and are there any novelties (ie water falls etc) It is the first time we will be going t VG and I know that Vistana Village where I usually stay has been more and more crowded.

the main pool now is pretty crowded - there is a quiet pool near building 97 that i love it is never that crowded.

I think there was a waterfall at the current main pool - I just don't remember -

the new pool is surpose to be a mini-water park - so I would expect the teens and other kids to leave the other pools and go to it......

After I come back I will have more details - but I think the new pool has a lazy river, slides, and is more like SALB (Storm along bay) at the BC/YC at WDW.

Sounds good, went to Liki Tiki last year for that same reason and YUK! However, I do trust Marriott.

spiceycat - you're correct. There is a waterfall at the main pool and we found it crowded also, definitely not enough chairs. However, we found the quiet pool to be just perfect, I think that's the building we were in too. "Denia" was the name of it.

spiceycat--You leave just before us! I am getting so excited that I can't stand it, but I still have so MANY, MANY things to get done before we leave!

Bella and LoriX--I will try to get over and take some pictures. I'll definitely let you know what it looks like when we get back.

I remember the waterfall at the main pool. It wasn't crowded when we were there two years ago, so thanks for preparing me for crowds. The main pool complex also has a lap pool, a hot tub, some water jets for the kids to play in, and a kiddie pool. There is an indoor play area, too, with tubes and slides.

I thought we were in the perfect building last time. Just a short walk to the main pool or the quiet pool. This time my mother made a request to be in the building overlooking the main pool which I'm not thrilled about. I guess what I considered a short walk was a bit much for her. I'm still hoping to get lucky and get a little further out. No matter what, we'll have a great trip!

When we took the trip two year's ago, I was grumpy, because I never wanted to stay off-site, but my parents own at Grande Vista and were treating us. I absolutely loved it!

Yup, My family and I will be at GV in July from the 3rd to the 12th. We have owned since "98" and absolutely love Grande Vista all the Marriott Orlando timeshares for that matter. We are very interested in seeing some pics of the new area also. Last time we were there (last August) we saw a drawing of the new area, looks awesome. The pool is supposed be 28,000 sq ft two tiered with zero entry at one end, a couple of water cannon towers and a large waterfall. The area will also have a pool bar and grill.

We will be there May 29th to June 12th with DH's family in a 3 bedroom.

I'm so happy to see that the pool will open while we are there!

This is our first trip with extended and first time for them in a Marriott timeshare so I know they will be blown away by the resort

Does anyone know the location of this new pool area? I keep hearing "west", but is there any more specific info than that?

I do have the map from the Marriott website, but there is no indication of where the new development is.

Anyone know?

The new area is being built across the lake from the main resort area.

Harryo - thanks for the great reviews; we'll be staying at Grande Vista for the first time this October. In between park visits, my husband will be golfing as usual and I'm thrilled to hear about the new pool complex being opened in June. The location you described for the new pool - is it far away from everything else or a walking distance? Thanks!

Walking distance yes, you'll have to cross over the lake, but it is a hike from the rest of the villas. They are building new villas adjacent to the new pool but I don't know if they will open at the same time as the pool area or if they come on-line later.
