New policy? No picture threads on the CB??

Did I miss something? Have pictures been banned from the CB? Or are we just picking on selected DISers?

IMHO just because a DISer is in a picture, it doesn't make it a Dis Meet. But I guess that I'm wrong.

Maybe it was requested due to they take up a lot of room & this site is expensive to run for fre? I don't know......just a guess here.

Pictures have not been banned from the DIS boards, nor has any moderator deleted any pictures.

All of the picture threads of DIS Meets, and inquiries about DIS Meets, get moved to the DIS Meet board.

I'm not clear on the "best" board for a Disney photo essay, that contains lots of different pictures including DIS meets, either TC. Maybe I can try and get some clarification for you. I do think the concept of a DIS Meet board is a good one though, but its no good if no one knows its there.

....but since WHEN are Dan's photo threads considered a DIS meet???? His threads have been a part of THIS board since I first registered back in 99!! NEVER has one been moved!! I think ALL the mods should take a step back and REALLY look what THEY are doing to this board!!!

I cannot speak for anyone else, but I *can* tell you that everyday I think about my contribution to this board. I really don't need to, because its NOT my job to please you or anyone else, but I don't make any decisions to move threads, lock threads, or alter threads in any way lightly.

I personally feel that valid points have been made, perhaps the Mod or WM who felt the post should be moved will see your points. I just hope this doesn't become a finger pointing match, because if so, I'm outta here. Never has accomplished anything, and probably never will.

I just have one question - and I have kept my mouth shut about this but now I would like to know. It hasn't happened to me yet but one time I had a post moved because where I had posted wasn't the right place and I understood after it was moved. However, I was contacted via either PM or email (I can't remember which) as to why it was moved. It appears that this might not be happening when things are moved lately. Is this true? I would think just a bit of common courtesy would be good both for the board and to help people understand why their post was moved. I for one was very happy to have been contacted and found out why the post was moved and totally understood. I think some of the problem here is that things are being moved and it appears no one is getting any contact about why - they're just being moved. If that were me and I wasn't notified why, which then means I didn't know who so I couldn't email or PM to ask about why which leads to people having to post to find out, I know I would be highly upset.

I've asked for clarification from a WM, and hopefully it will be here soon.

99, I always send a PM letting a person know it was moved, as well as leave a redirect on the post itself.

Well, you didn't have any DIS Meets in St. Maarten, did you CR? If so, can I come to the next meet you are hosting?

Perhaps its best to separate the DIS Meet pictures from the Disney photos? Or like Pembo said, a "Picture" board? Or just one big melting pot on the CB?

I don't know the answer, nor do I have the authority to make any board policy decisions, just thinking aloud.

Good point there Chris. Snoopy, we all know that you do a great job moderating around here. I feel that you do it in a way that is non offensive and you take into consideration how a person would feel - like notifying someone when their thread is being moved. If only others would follow your lead.

Christine, thank you. I do think we all here are doing our best, is just that like any group of people, we sometimes have different interpretations of how things should be run. Bottom line, WMs make the final call, and apparently the rule is ANY thread that contains pictures of DIS Meets, or DIS Con Meets, will be moved to the DIS Meet board.

I'll see if I can find a link where this was decided. Search is down now, but apparently it was communicated.

I just got back from WDW so forgive me for sounding confused.

Something was moved and there was not a redirect left on the cb? Usually when something is moved a redirect is left behind so that all anyone has to do is click on the post and gets taken immediately to the new location which eliminates the need to send an email or pm.

Is this what happened?
