New policy? No picture threads on the CB??

In a nutshell, Dan's photo thread of pictures from AK have been moved. Yes, there was a redirect but many of us are confused as to the logic (if any!) behind the move.
 
I was just surprised (and disappointed) to find that a generic picture post was moved to the Dis Meets board. I know that the CB is a busy place, but I have grown rather accustomed to seeing these particular picture posts here on the CB.

There was a redirect link in place. I'm not accusing anyone of doing anything wrong. I was just questioning the reason for the move. Perhaps I should have kept my mouth (keyboard???) shut and just let it slide.

What defines a DISmeet? Is it a meet that is organized on the DISmeet board or is it anytime that 2 DISers meet together?
 
Believe if the latter one holds true than no more pics of you and Shep together. :eek: ;)
 

Colleen and John, in a nutshell. Webmasters determine policy, board content and what belongs where...moderators follow instruction from webmasters. The Dis meets board was created for that very thing...meets with other disers, pictures from said meets and also organizing these meets. The Webmasters have decided the post belongs on the Dis Meets boards, as do all posts regarding Dis Meets. Earlier on it was pointed out that a link could be put on cb linking to the dismeet board and bumped occasionally for organizing these meets. In truth, if there were no disers or meets in the pictures the proper placement for that post would be trip reports :)
Questions regarding policy can always be directed to webmaster@wdwinfo.com thats where policy comes from :)

Sssooo...where do pictures from trips that don't involve Disney or other DISers go? Is there a non-Disney trip reports board? And if part of the trip is to Disney, and part isn't, should the thread be split, with a link to the other one?

I haven't seen that picture post of Dan's...the problem was that there was a DISer(s) in a picture(s) so that is why it got moved to the DIS meets board? And if there weren't any DISers in any pictures, it should have gotten moved to the Trip Reports board? :confused: I think I need a DIS board flowchart.
 
I recently had my post about BUN Con with the pictures moved to the DIS Meets board. Shoot, I didn't even notice such a board existed before I was pmd by a moderator that my post had been moved there. I wanted the most people to see my pictures not have them moved to another place where they probably wouldn't be seen by that many people. What difference does it make where they appear??? If you're on the CB and don't want to see pictures just don't click on them. Am I right or am I right?

Really! It's just too much work and confusing to start a thread anymore without worrying about who may get their feelings hurt, is the content acceptable, is it politically correct, is it on the proper "board" etc.

Cant' we just go back to the way it was? Was it that bad before? And if it was, who complained?

Can I get a show of hands?

Anyone?
 
Beauty, Whatever you do, DON'T put Mickey Ears on Isis and post pictures! They will be moved to the DIS Meet board!:jester:

Where is the "DIS MEETS" board?

I can't get to it from the "Jump to a Forum" drop down at the bottom of the page.

I would think it would be listed under the "Just For Fun Forums" section.

I don't want to have to go to the home page to find it. When I come to the DIS under my "favorites" it takes me right to my User CP, and from there I can click onto my "subscribed to" boards. I'd gladly add the DIS Meets Board, if I could find it!

Hi TC good to see you! By the way you are corret!:D However, if this is the new rule then hopefully we can post here on the CB saying "hey I posted some pics on such and such board" without being moved or "reprimanded".

Too many rules IMO.:( I cannot keep things straight any longer.
 
So TC are you saying if Isis and SImba have a meet that it will go on the DIS meets board.....goodness!!:p :p :p :p

What if I just show Isis the picture of Simba that I have on my computer desk???:jester:

I remember when a few of the mods your talking about used to have as much fun as all the other posters, now we hardly ever see them unless they are "getting on" to someone or making a short "get over it" type post. I know there are nice, sweet and funny people inside.......I wonder how we dig them back out?? Any suggestions?
 
There is now minimum or maximum that moderators do here. TO be honest not everyone likes to answer problems and reports, no one says we have to. Some moderators are good at getting the board moving, others respond to trouble, others move posts. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and as a group I think we do dang well. Not everyone is the same and not everyone is expected to do something they do not like to do. Not that I like moving threads or responding to moderator posts, but I do that while others do the posts that help move the board along and involve people. There is no reprimand for those that do one thing or the other unless it comes from posters. IMHO every MOD on this board does their part for the CB in their own way. So, to be honest it could be interpretation, or it could be likes and dislikes...Just the way it is.
 
Ok...one of our other policies is that we are not going to debate board policy on the boards. If you have any questions feel free to email a webmaster but this thread is closed.
