New Policy Change for AP Renewals

Oops -- I just posted this too Nikki!

Looks like Disney is trying anything they can to get more dollars rolling in.

That is awesome.

We have to renew in October. That means I won't have to worry about renewing for December 2010 because it will still be valid, and that's with a DVC renewal.

I hope this isn't too good to be true.

Thanks for posting this Nikki!!!

Someone help me because I'm slow :) My AP runs out in October. DH's in the beginning of December. Does this mean that our APs will still be good in the middle of December or does this mean that if I renew in October my AP will be good until January of 2011??

That's good news, but I don't know if I will be renewing next year.

For your AP, you need to renew it within 30 days of it expiring and then it'll be good for 15 months after that. So, it'll be good until January 2011.

For your hubby's, you'll do the same thing. So, it'll be good until March 2011.

Thanks. That doesn't help us much. We are going this December and then doing two cruise, and we aren't going to go to the parks for the cruises! Can you believe it. I can't :(

Nope - I can't imagine going to FL and NOT going to WDW!

Ok, I am confused.....

I JUST renewed......

So does this benefit us in anyway??

Nope - sorry.

**On second look - do you have a renewal VOUCHER or an actual AP that you renewed?
Effective August 2, 2009 renewals within 30 days before or after the expiration date will receive an additional three months and will be valid for 15 months from the expiration date of the current Pass.

Renewal Exchange Vouchers sold prior to August 2, 2009 may be redeemed with this offer provided the renewal is occurring August 2, 2009 or later.

I think this is great, but it doesn't help me much. First off, I use the DVC discount which may not be included in this promotion, secondly, I only go to WDW every six months. Since I will probably obly be going once next year I will probably not renew.

I have DVC AP's that expire on 12/01. Can I renew tomorrow to take advantage of the savings/15 month pass or do I have to wait until 30 days prior to the expiration date? I'm guessing all I need to do is the will call option. I don't see anything on the online renewal that indicates (renewal) voucher. Thanks!

Good question, George. From what I read, it has to be 30 days out. I don't know otherwise. Try the WDW site or you could call member services.

I like this policy. It's not as good as many years ago when you could renew and the renewal date didn't start until you actually used it, but it's a step up from what it's been for the past few years.

If I were to renew my pass 29 days after it expired would it expire 15 months from when the old pass expired or 15 months from when I renewed. If it is the latter we'll be able to squeeze in an extra trip. Well worth the $20 price increase.

I have a DVC AP too and as far as I know it'll apply to this.

Where are you guys seeing that this applies to DVC AP's, everything I've seein does not say it's valid for the DVC AP's. I hope it is, because that would be awesome.

This sounds great. I was not planning on renewing my AP but this will certainly have me considering it.
