New Platinum Perk?

We sailed 10/31 and it was our first Platinum cruise. In addition to the gifts in the stateroom (Platinum lanyards, beach bag, wet/dry bag and Mickey towel), we also were left a card to call room service for a "Sweet Treat" which was either champagne or a non-alcoholic version. I wasn't expecting it, since I didn't see it anywhere in the perks listing. Was this a perk for turning Platinum or is it an ongoing thing for any Platinums?

It's been a perk for a while. Why it has to go through room service has always been a mystery to me. We usually get the chocolates.

I think it's because they want (need?) to ensure there's someone 21+ in the room upon delivery

Possibly. Still, I think it could easily just be handled with a card left in your room, you check which item you want and give it to your room steward. If you choose the champagne, the steward could give it to one of the adults in the room and even have them sign for it to acknowledge receipt. I feel like they used to do something like that for you to confirm you received your CC gifts.

I wish you could pre order the treat or do it on the app. I hate having to call room service and order.

That has been a Platinum perk for several years now. The choices used to include a fruit plate, but that is apparently no longer available.

We selected the fruit plate last year in December. Hasn’t been an option lately.
