New Plans for the Race Rock site

This is good news. I always thought it was a shame to have such a prime piece if real-estate standing empty (even more of a shame that they closed Race Rock in the first place but that's a different story).
I will be watching with anticipation for more announcements

A deal has been finalized that will mean the Race Rock location on International Drive will be re-opened as a restaurant, bar & entertainment venue. Race Rock has been empty since 2007, with plans for a new up market restaurant to open in its place but nothing has changed on the site since the closure.

Dave & Busters Inc. have announced plans to build on the location, they currently operate restaurant, bar & entertainment complexes throughout the US and Canada. Their restaurants serve burgers, pastas and salads while also featuring arcade games, virtual sports and pool tables. No further details have been released and the opening date has yet to be announced.

Ooo, that's interesting! We were disappointed to see that place all abandoned when we were there last summer (we hadn't been since 2000).

We were also gutted that the Mercado shopping and eating complex was no more? Do you know of any plans for that? It's a huge site, and is just going to waste....the colours that used to lead you into the complex on the I drive pavements are still there, but now lead you straight into a metal fence! Ouch!
Sad times.

We stayed a few nights near there in December. Seemed to be a big plot to be abandoned. I wondered what was happening to it.

The Mercado was a dive when it was operating, not a surprise when it closed down.

There used to be a place at Pointe Orlando similar to Dave and Busters with video games etc.
