For those that have just received their DVD, I propose this challenge....

Count the number of times Erin (the lovely host) uses the word "a-MAZ-ing". Also, count the number of times the thrill-ride "dude" says "Now, that's what I'm TALK-ing about".

Winner gets my 1989 Unoffical Guide to Disney World (kidding ;) )

Also, you can count the number of times the "dude" points with two fingers.

Could be a drinking game...........

I agree..Luke is very annoying! and Erin is very perky!
I enjoyed watching the show, though..and I still haven't looked at the special features! :earsgirl:

I liked the guy who found all the good relaxing places. I guess they were trying to hit all the angles with the multiple hosts.

This DVD kinda made me sick to my stomach. The hosts are pretty awful--WAAAAYYYY too over the top. :sad2:

I thought it was great, and I usually hate annoying stuff like that. I saw somebody describe them as Bob Saget like in another post, so I went into it thinking it was going to be awful. I was presently surprised. I thought it was great.

I think they were trying to make Luke appeal to the teen crowd, but he just doesn't cut it. If they wanted to make him seem more normal he would've been way more laid back- and have slept til 11 or 12 and got to the parks late. Erin was too happy- it works for the video but the people seemed too fake.

Pity me... I was so excited when I got my copy of the Disney Planning DVD today that I made my DS's (14 and 11) sit down and watch it with me...now they keep doing imitations of Luke!! It was bad enough the first time around...but ...well ...to hear bad imitations...alllllll dayyyy......ERRRGGGG!! :rolleyes2

OH MY!!! My 14 and 15 year old DDs would be VERY upset if this read this!!! THEY LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM LOVE HIM!!! :love1: :lovestruc :love1: That's them KISSING Luke by the way!!! I'm surprised the DVD isn't worn out yet!!! Not kidding, I have to hide the DVD . . . :sad2:

They also LOVE his hair :confused3

My DD3 has been watching the DVD almost everyday since we got it. It comes on and she keeps telling me "look Mama, it's Erin, Look Look!!". I'm getting tired of listening to Erin...lol! I hope she doesn't look for her when we get to WDW.

DH likes the laid back guy and told me that would be him on the benches. He only thinks that..lol!

Well, I do have to say that my dd, 11, loves Luke. I asked her if she likes him and she said.."Yeah, but he can be a little annoying. But, I like him the best!" I like laid back guy. He's into my kind of touring. Gotta love those benches.

Yes, it is a bit annoying and fake, but at least its different from the numerous previous videos which I could recite by heart now! They really never changed much from year to year until this one. I do love the bench guy though. I can really relate to him more than the other 3. :flower1:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Hurl Factor??????????? Gotta love that. Cracked me up!

The bench guy is my favorite - they modeld him after my dh who diligently seeks out a bench in smoking area :guilty:

We thought Erin was adorable :cheer2: raah raah Disney Cheerleader. Gotta lover her freckels!

We really loved the DVD! Yeah, the cast was kinda corny, but in between watching our favorite place in the world, we had a chance to cut on their over the top cheesiness. I was worried that Erin would be another Krissa (from the resort TV channel), but she wasn't all that bad. I know some people don't like the way it jumps around a lot, but I think it's a great change from the last few years. (OK, a whole lotta years).

My family hated the new DVD. The hosts annoyed me to no end. Two of my three children lost interest in just a few minutes and left the room. I did sit through it all even though I was ready to choke Erin before it was over. My oldest daughter did think Jake was hot. She would come back into the room every so often and just say "he's HOT" then leave again. When I put the planning cd in the computer I took it right back out after a few minutes. UGH!

The first thing my ds14 noticed about Erin was her freckles. He thinks she's hot....*sigh*... As for the comments about Luke's hair...well..that's the style these days...my ds14 has the same hair style (if ya wanna call it that). I took him to get a "hair cut" last week, and when we got back, my DH asked if the place was closed..he thought we hadn't been yet! Anyway, I guess the least annoying person in the whole video is the lady who deals with the young kids. I can't even remember her name!! This could be because I don't have any young kids.... And, all kidding aside, IMO the dvd was very informative and helpful for our family. We've never been to WDW. I was able to show the kids the resort where we are gonna stay...Some of the thrill rides....etc..that just aren't the same as seeing flat pictures on the 'net! The only bad part was the part on DQ and them mentioning the Lego place. My DS's now suggest that we dedicate at least 3 - 4 days of our 7 day trip to the exploration of these places....

I think where at least the MK portion bugged me is that there were too many cuts and they tried to be too cutesy and "contemporary" (meaning, like television) instead of informative. I thought they did a lot better in the other parks, but the plain goofiness didn't really appeal to me. I get the videos each year, whether we're planning a trip or not, and this one will take a long, long time to get used to. (Yeah, call me an olde farte.)

Whomever came up with the idea of doing a ton of fast cuts in video should be flogged.

I also question what they consider an adult guest. What is that guy? 32? LOL! (Though of the hosts, I like him the best.)

I guess my feelings is that the park should sell itself. Having goofy hosts try to sell the park is insulting to both the parks and the audience. But perhaps that is what "kids" need to get them into the Disney spirit. Is there some feeling about that "kids" (meaning, teens to young adults) have deemed Disney "uncool?" Great! More park for the rest of us!
