Well our new planner came in today........oh wait just the empty box came in. Apparently the post office stamped it received with no contents. It appears to be a failure of the adhesive on the cardboard, box was wide open. I hope for Disney's sake that this is not going to be a failure of many deliveries. I emailed MS to see if they can mail out a new copy......hope they can.

Wow, how disappointing. Hopefully you can get a new planner! :thumbsup2

How big a box?

Are we talking a thick planner?

Or a thin one like the 2010 insert we got last year?

Ug! I'd hate for that to happen! You get all excited to see that it's arrived and for it to be EMPTY!!!! It would have put me in a mood for the rest of the day!

My box was open too, but the planner was in there. The adhesive was very weak. The planner is the same size as all the other ones with the 2011 points in a pull out section in the back.

The planner is 2010 which is kind of late IMHO, we have already taken our 2010 vacation and I'm thinking about 2011 and 2012!

But I do love looking through it eventhough there really isn't anything new. All the resorts are there.

Our planner arrived today....have not had time to look through it yet, but I will soon!! :)

wait... what planner? We only bought in Sept, so I'm curious as to what you all are talking about. I loooove planning. lol

I got mine today too and had the opposite affect, the box was really hard to open, it actually took me about 5 minutes to get it opened! Made my day to get it!

Just got ours today..I actually think its a real waste of our dvc $$$. The website has the same info. The small point chart book to use as a non-electronic reference would have been fine. The HUGE planner book is more of a marketing tool and we already own...just my thoughts. I love being a dvc member, have since we joined in 1994, but I think this is not a good use of our money.

I've posted this before, but it doesn't hurt to repeat it.

I was told (and believe the person who told me) that the planner is paid for by the Developer. It is indeed a marketing piece and NOT paid for by member dues.

That said, I think they could save a lot of money if they would let us opt out of getting it. Like you, I get my info from the members' website and the DIS (& more quickly, too).

Nothing yet here, North of Boston...But I dont really care...It's March 2010 already???? I already taken 2 '10 trips and the 3rd one is booked.
They should be sendibg out '11 planners in March, not '10.

You guys have to fill me in...wht are you talking about? A "Planner"? Im a relatively new DVC member...is it a DVC thing? Does it come to you automatically or do you have to request one?

The planner is a catalog type book that has all DVC information in it, point charts, booking info, Member Services contact info, etc.. Usually by the time we get them, they're a little out dated!

I wish they'd go back to the binders and send out insert pages for it.

I agree! This has been the trend these past few years. Planners used to be for planning AHEAD a year or two. They are fun to look through, but not very useful anymore.
