New places to try.

We love Via Napoli at Epcot - DD15 usually makes us eat there twice per trip. We also really enjoy Sanaa at AKL, try the bread service - you will not be disappointed!

We loved spice road table. Tried it for the first time in September. We ordered several small plates and shared. Our kids (12) and (9) both enjoyed it.

  1. Flying Fish is outstanding. Curiously, it was the best steak I've ever had.
  2. Sanaa is outstanding (bread service and candy bar dessert are unforgettable).
  3. Homecomin' is not what I consider healthy food, but is outstanding (club sandwich and mac-n-cheese are stand outs)
  4. Satuli Canteen is outstanding for quick service.
  5. Jiko is above average, but overpriced.
  6. Hoop Dee Doo is above average.
  7. Roaring Forks for lunch is above average (chicken sandwich is massive and delicious).
  8. Blaze Pizza is average.
  9. Pecos Bill is average, but the fixings bar makes this budget friendly.
I've eaten at all the above within the past 6 months.

homecomings menu looks awesome. we r going to do that for dinner first night. i can't even decide what i would have. it's comfort food heaven!

the polite pig also looks awesome. we are going to try it.

so those 2 r getting added for dinners.

tiffins is deff going in the rotations cause that menu is right up my alley. i love venison. grant it it's not wild like i'm used to but farm raised is fine also. i also really like duck. my grandmother always made it for me when i was a kid.

sanaa has deff a great bread service. we will maybe do it for lunch one day since we usually come back to swim and rest.

it's funny u mention hoop dee doo. the food a average but it's deff a good time and the food is good for a dinner show.

i forgot there is the new italian place coming to downtown also my buddy had mentioned. forgot about paddlefish but he said he had lunch thee but would not go back for dinner so that is out.

We did Trattoria for dinner and Skipper for lunch for the first time in September and enjoyed both!

We didn't get to Disney this past year. So this coming November will be our first trip back in over a year.

We need 9 nights of dinners. We have 2 kids with us, but that doesn't matter. Their only request is Cindy castle for dinner 1 night. Not the best but they like it and we still enjoy the experience cause we have just done it each trip since having kids.

Our usual standbys are:

1. Paradiso 57 - always the first night for some reason cause we usually meet up with friends here. Any ideas for a replacement for something new downtown?

2. Yachtsman always
3. Jiko always
4. Flying Fish always - how is it since reopening?
5. Narcoossee's always

6. Il Mulino last trip for the first time and it was really good. We were surprised.
7. Morimoto was really really good also last trip
8. Trattoria al Forno 2nd time last trip and enjoyed it.

9. California Grill - ok i'm going to get roasted for this but we ate there 2 times trip before kids for 10 years. Then they redid it. Went there as usual and it was horrible. 10 out of 11 people hated it. I have read mixed things since one the years. Worth throwing it back in?

10. Artist Point used to always go there when we stayed at WL but now that we like AKL so much we don't venture over.

11. We don't do a lot of lunch. We r usually back to the rom to swim and chill by then so we can go back in after a nice dinner for the night. But when we do lunch we really like:

1. BOG for lunch only. no t dinner
2. Flame Tree has been hit and miss since the reopen.
3. We really really like the Harambe market Beef and the flatbread

That's about it for lunch.

So Dinner new finds? There seems to be a ton of new places downtown? how are some of them. what do you all like at them?

I know al the older places in the hotels, so not looking for ideas on those unless they have made a big turn in the bast 2 years or so.

I know food is subjective. But we never thought we would like Trattoria or Paradico but we do. I get the same thing all the time at both places. Same with my wife so maybe that's why. I don't know.

Thanks! Been off the board for a while cause it was depressing reading about everyones upcoming trips and we were home, but that's over now. lol

Happy new year!

Happy New Year!

Here is what I would recommend to mix it up,

Coral reef restaurant - your kids will love having dinner and watching all the sharks and scuba divers swim by, it's always a fantastic experience for us. It's also my kids favorite mac & cheese
Via Napoli - My kids loved, loved their pizza, and ,my fish pasta dish (the one with the clams & shrimp) was one of the best ones I had at WDW

Would you try Le Cellier? - my kids always go nuts for their pretzel bread and my husband feels that Le Cellier and Narcoosees always have the best filet mignon in WDW

I agree with "Narcroosees always" - it's always our best meal at WDW

I'm also doing Cindy's castle - but we did not love the new dinner menu last time we went, we are thinking of mixing it up and having breakfast there instead

Happy planning, Marina :flower1:

Hey There!

Tried to read all the posts but here's our favorites

Disney Springs
Homecomin (we order lots and share to hard to pick one entree), moonshine is awesome too, but we need to share that too!
The Boathouse is hands down our favorite park wide. Just WOW!!!

EPCOT
Via Napoli - huge crowd pleaser nothing like pizza and a salad
Teppan Edo - We love but got tired of sharing the table with people a little off...lol

MKingdom
BOG - Love the lamb chops, love the french wine and beer
The Plaza - So nice especially for lunch

Hollywood Studio
SciFi - Great Burger and great atmosphere. Where else can you sit in a car and have dinner

AKingdom
Yak & Yeti - Just Delicious

WLodge
Geyser Point Bar - Counter Service but the most relaxing place park wide to us
Whispering Canyon - if you want BBQ this is the place

Yacht Club
Yachtsman - but for the best steak I would go to Boathouse

Poly
Kona or O'hana - delicious. O'hana with kids definitely

Our new restaurant for May is Sanaa, can't wait!! Good Luck there is just so many great options and to top it off your in Disney World!!

9. California Grill - ok i'm going to get roasted for this but we ate there 2 times trip before kids for 10 years. Then they redid it. Went there as usual and it was horrible. 10 out of 11 people hated it. I have read mixed things since one the years. Worth throwing it back in?
Im with you on that 100%! Ever since the refurb at CG, I had nothing but not-so-great meals there. Completely disappointing if you ask me. On one occasion it was so bad the server didn't charge me for the item. Never again.

My absolute fave place EVER at disney is Artist Point. Oh my goodness, best meal ever!!!!!! Second fave is The Wave. Short Rib with Goat Cheese Polenta is what i had this past trip. It was fantastic! :cloud9: I highly recommend these two places.

Other faves:
Via Napoli. Very good pasta and pizza. (epcot)
SciFi. Awesome unique theme, and good food. Love their wings, spinach dip, onion rings, burgers/fries, and shakes are to die for! Get the oreo! (HS)

One place i'd not recommend even though its popular is Ohana dinner. Awful food quality. Slimy wings, dried meat, dry potstickers and noodles. Yuck. Waste of money.

I never thought about going to the boathouse. I don’t know why but haven’t considered it always figured more a bar with floating cars. Lol. I’ll check it out tonight.

I totally forgot about the wave. We have friends that always say they like it.

We try to do sci-fi for lunch usually. We don’t do lunch often but when we do it’s bog and sci-fi.

We never did bog for dinner cause ever since it opened the dinner always seemed just ok in looking at the menu to try and get an adr there. I’ll check out the menu again cause obviously it’s prob diff by now.

Cindy’s castle will be dinner most likely cause my 2 kids just like going there. We struggle through the meal but they always have a good time. We really try to avoid character meals ever since they were born. Bad parenting on our part. Lol. But the food usually stinks and character interaction ya gotten worse over the years. Tusker house is what did us in when they said kids needed to be at a certain section of the table. Books in a pile for signing. It was like a factory. Characters signed as they walked by inbetween but came back later for pics. Was just a cold experience. No big deal. Characters are all over the place in the parks. They really enjoy meet and greats.

Thanks everyone this thread has some great info sprinkled throughout it for foodies. Lol. Very cool.

I will say the 3 things I’m most excited about is going back to the hanger bar. I just had an awesome time there when it first opened. I didn’t eat anything there just went to drink and it was so cool. I want one of those menus for my bar at home!

And the other 2 places I can’t wait for to try are homecoming and polite pig. It’s just my kinda food. Looks so good!
