New pirate makeover experience!

Y

I'm very excited to see EVERYONE from Disboards! Please mention that you are from Disboards... I'll probably acted very surprised, then ask you all kinds of questions about what Disboards are! ;)

Oh no, we're gonna have to work out some kinda secret code so I don't lose my "coolest mom" title and you can act like you do know and remember me!!! I have to prove to Lizzie that I know a REAL pirate!!!:rotfl:

YES!

When your date gets closer, PM me. If we talk about it now I'll probably forget! But maybe if I know what you're wearing or something I can call out your real name!

I'll PM ya, but we're gonna be wearing pirate mickey's that day! ;) That will probably help!

I made my ressie tonight. Going to be there Aug 14 at 2 pm with my DBF. That is a Friday...I will look out for you Pirate Brenna. Can't wait to be inducted into the league.

Brenna, you've been so helpful already, I hope you won't mind me asking another question. My DD13 will be there and she has decided she doesn't want to have to do the Hook finger/pirate oath -- can we skip anything my teen deems too uncool? ;)

okay, i'm from disboards

thanks again for the tour (i couldn't find the thread when I pm'd you, it got bumped somewhere along the way i guess). awesome experience. photos to come soon.

Actually, I think I've hit my question quota. :lmao:

Unfortunately, she will not be allowed to skip the oath. No oath - No Secret Room, which means no photograph. However, not all Pirates do the Oath the same way. I give my recruits three different options (Hook is the most popular) some will just have her raise her starboard hand, and others do things completely different.

We had a young lass yesterday that thought she was a little to savy too... but give it 15 minutes, they'll be playing along.

Conversation with my daughter this morning:

Lizzie: Mom, I don't believe you know a real pirate.
Me: Yes, I do!
Lizzie: Then what's her name? (totally thinking she'll stump me)
Me: Pirate Brenna!
(Lizzie looks a little more intrigued...)
Lizzie: So where is she then?
Me: At the Pirate league, recruiting more pirates!
(now Lizzie is really puzzled)
Lizzie: Well how old is she?
Me: Oh, Pirates NEVER tell you how old they are.
Lizzie: Hmm...I don't think I believe you, but we'll see... :rotfl2:

I'm kind of glad this is your answer. :lmao: That kid needs to learn to not take herself quite so seriously KWIM? ;) I'm sure she's all blustery now, but will go right along once we get there. Thanks again Brenna for walking us through this, and not making us walk the plank!

I just booked the Pirate experience for Thursday Oct 1st and I have run into a small problem.

The only time they had available was 3:35. We are only going to the MNSSHP so we will not be allowed in until 4pm right?
Are there no times after 4pm on halloween party nights? The Cm could find nothing.
Do you think if I keep the 3:35 time they will let me in earlier than 4pm for my ADR?
He is so excited! I hope we can work this out so he can go he is really looking forward to it.

Thanks for the help

Hi Aryn, We also rang today to book for our two girls for October 1st. We were also given 3:35 so we may see you there if you don't get to change. I'm also going to ring back and try to book for DH. We will be the ones with the funny accents. :confused3
The CM checked the hours they were open when we were on the phone. She said it was open from 9am to 7pm on that date. We also requested later but 3:35pm was the latest they had available. We will have AP's so its not so much of a big deal for us.

That is amazing! Let her know that I'm one of two (at the moment) red heads at the League. A lot of the other pirates refer to me as the red head. That will help prove you know me! (also - I'm 25 ;) )

Haha no problem. We get a lot of "teens" with the same impression. My best experience today was two little boys, a teen boy, and the parents... the two boys and dad were getting the package. I was playing with them and getting them their pirate names when the teen (probably 15) asked his dad if he could go instead. It was great!! Of course the dad said no that this was for him!! :rotfl2: (just kidding)

We will be the ones with the funny accents. :confused3 The CM checked the hours they were open when we were on the phone. She said it was open from 9am to 7pm on that date.

Between all of the pirates and our crazy accents you won't stand out at all.

Our hours are 9-7 everyday, but we take our last appt. at 6:30, so that cuts down on openings at the end of the night.

I took my three year old daughter to the pirate's League on Tuesday the 30th. It was the second day it was open and she had a great time. She is a little shy, so she was very timid with the pirates, but loved the makeover experience.

When they first get there a pirate helps them pick their pirate name. My daughter's name was Anne Rigspinner

After a name is picked they walk back to where the makeover is done.

Jonathan was her pirate and he did a great job with her. We planned on having the Empress package without the costume, but as my mom watched the process she decided that she had to have the costume. The costume was $50.

As you can tell my daughter picked pink or purple for everything. She was so excited that they gave you the nail polish and lip gloss to take home. The earring was a little tight on her ear, so it didn't last long and was added to the bag.

After the makeover is completed, we met up with another pirate - a very nice girl, but I can't remember her name. She was given her sword and the pirate's oath.

After the oath the new pirates are taken into the secret room where no pictures are allowed. A picture is taken and some other things are done while in the room. The pirate in the room was "very" pirate acting and my daughter got a little scared. She was afraid to move. It was actually quite funny that she took it sooo seriously.

We had a great time and everyone involved was wonderful to us. I would definately suggest this experience to others.

Excellent photos! Your daughter is adorable. Thank you for sharing. My kids and husband are doing this Oct 6 before the Halloween party. Can't wait, it looks like she enjoyed it!

DisneyMinnie your daughter looks so cute

Does anyone know if the bandana is available to buy seperately or only with the package?

It's the same bandana they sell in the Pirates bizarre shop, so it's available to everyone. Also, if you're purchasing a costume then you do not get the bandana, so yes you can add it on.

I'm 13, and the next (and probably only "next" trip) in my future is a mass music trip with my high school (GO CHOIR!!) and it is over spring break. I would LOVE to do this, but it's not a possibility. :sad1: This looks so cool!
I did BBB for my b-day trip Oct 2008 but would love to do this as well -sigh-
I guess there's always time when/if I have a family of me own! YARRR!!! pirate:

why no bandana with purchase of costume? spend more get less?
