New pirate makeover experience!

The information I gave about this before was incorrect. Guests will not have an option of which photo is printed with the package and none will be put onto a Photopass. However, you can opt to take additional photos near the Pirate Tutorial afterwards, those will be placed on a Photopass.

That kinda sucks that the photos won't be put on photopass! I love that option with the BBB, wonder why it is different? I will have to take lots myself then.

You have to remember that photopass will not be in the makeover area, the only photos taken are in the secret room, so that's why there is no need to put them on a card. Families are more than welcome to take as many photos/video that they want!!

gotcha! Thanks for clarifying! I will jsut have to take tons of pics and have 2 cameras because both kiddos are getting it done. Hopefully hubby will be up to being paparratzi for 30 minutes.

Are pictures available yet of the costumes?

They were posted earlier in this thread (or at least costumes that look really similar) - all are up except the exclusive pirate wench dress. The pirate wench dress that was posted is not similar.

Is the "experience" after the makeover ONLY for those getting the makeover? What I mean is, not that you could walk off the street and do it, but what about a younger sibling?

Are you talking about the secret room?

The experience occurs over 3-4 stages. The makeup is stage 2 or 3 (depending on whether you get a costume). The 4th stage is the well publicized "secret room" and yes, parents and siblings will get to go in.

Thank you, yes, that is what I meant. I have one daughter who wants to do BBB and have dinner at the castle, and another who is a pirate freak. I know that neither will want the "makeover experience" the other is getting (though one may when she sees the pirate dress, which is what has me worried and wondering about any pictures out there). But I do know it will be bad if one is "locked out" of the experience that goes with each.

Okay another question:

My 12 year old daughter just informed me she wants to be a pirate princess, lol. I had heard that adults could participate. She wears a women's M-L. Will there be costumes that size? To what size do the adult costumes go? I'd love for hubby to do it but he's 6'6/a 3x!

I have to confess that I'm not familiar (yet) with child sizes, but I know that the largest size is a child's XL. The L is listed as a 10/12, they do not have the XL listed.

The Adult costume is unisex that runs from S-XL.

If the costume doesn't work, they can still get the other packages and the last stage is done as a family event.

Wait, this made me think of something else...would she be able to dress as a pirate with her own costume and get entrance to the park? She's 12. Hmm, have they addressed that yet?

I'm just wondering if the "pink pirate" is why she wants to do it now, so she'd be bummed with the pants.

She cried last time when we went to Disney- she was only 10- and went to get princess costumes and she discovered they did not sell any that fit her. She isn't overweight, she's just tall/grown. I want to avoid this for her this time.

The two female costumes (the pirate wench and buccaneer girl) are only available in children sizes, so my guess is they'll be too small.

The adult costume is a shirt and hat, no "bottoms."

I will ask tomorrow about people wearing costumes into the park - there is a parlor (dressing room) so if anything I'll ask if they can change into their own costume after they get into the league!

Thank you for the questions! As a new team we are trying to think of all the possible questions and scenarios so this will help us a lot! The better prepared we are the better the opening will be.

I'll report back!

Thank you! I really appreciated it.

I think it makes sense to change when you're there. I know one concern with costumes would be confusing those dressed with CM's, and I imagine another would be "appropriateness" in a family park. This would let older/bigger children participate and still let Disney have a level of control.

You also answered another question I've seen buzzing around the web about how this would work for adults when technically wear costumes to the park/CM confusion. If it's just a shirt, that makes sense.

I am going with my 3 year old and we are both doing the make-up... will we be able to sit next to each other? They made our times for the same time.

 Oh, why couldn't this open a few weeks sooner? How disappointing. We miss getting a pirate makeover by a few days. Oh well. Maybe I'll catch it on a future trip. It sounds like a really cool idea.

I am very excited about this!! My son is really into pirates now (although he's never seen any of the Pirates movies). He'll be 4.5 when we go on our next trip right after Thanksgiving.

Is this something I can book now, or does it work like dining that I can only be a certain number of days out from our trip?

Would it be okay if I brought his own pirate costume to wear and just did the makeup/bandana package?

Thanks for your help!!

This is wonderful to hear! I have long been irritated at how many special things there are for the girls, and nothing for the boys. My son is probably not quite ready this year, we'll see, but it should be great for his 2nd trip! Now, if only I can convince my husband to let loose and have a little fun doing it with him! If not, I'll just have to join my son instead!

Sorry if this has been answered I am late to the game here, what is the opening date? Where can I read all the info on this, ds will be turning 3 during our trip and is a pirate freak, I would love to set his up for this if it seems like something he would do,Yay for something for the boys!!!!pirate:

I'm very anxious to find out about the costume sizes too. DD wears a 14/16 and will be almost 10 when we go. I was going to either make a custom outfit or just do the cheaper package because of her size, but if the girls package with pants fits....

I think my daughter was about that size last time we went and at least for the princesses, we found nothing. :(

If our Pirates League CM returns, my daughter would love to know if changing into this for the experience would be allowed:
