New Pilot Program for Aug-Sep. 2007....Looks like FREE DINING

Does anyone know if this would work like booking a room at a rate that has experation dates?that is say this plan runs through Sept 29. if you booked it arriving the 29th for a week you would have the plan and the rate for the length of your stay? pirate:

Yes, as long as you check-in on or before the last date the promo is offered (9/30?) the entire ressie qualifies for the same rate.

There's no way in hell i'd ever go back to WDW in August-September. It is hotter than hell during that time, plus the humidity is next to unbearable. Please note that i'm from South Texas where heat & humidity are a way of life 365 days a year. If i say it's hot, sticky and nasty, then it's something to be very aware of. Check my sig, i went in August for Magical Beginnings and my DD 2 y.o. got dehydrated on the last day of our stay. We tried to keep her hydrated, but she still got sick. We felt so bad cuz we thought we had done something wrong. Thank goodness she recovered the next day via Pedialyte. Also, we got caught in the hurricane which wasn't so bad but we lost a day at the parks. That's something else to consider; check into trip insurance.

Anyway, no matter how good the deal sounds i'm steering clear of those months. If anyone has gone, or decides to go during those months, please post back and let us know what you thought. Maybe you'll get lucky and it wont be so bad, but don't count on it. Just ask the locals.

IMO, this package is better for adults w/o kids as it's much easier for adults to deal with the climate. Others will say they never had a problem with the weather, but they may have found a nice cool low-humidity day/week which is definetly not the norm in central Florida. When you have warm waters on both side of the state during this time (hurricane season), you can't help but feel the humidity hit you like a ton of bricks as soon as you leave the comfort of the air conditioned resort.

Sorry to rant, but just wanted to give everyone with younger kids something to think about. I hope those who take advantage of the offer have great weather.:goodvibes:

I went with my son, who was 18 months at the time, this 8/27 -9/2 and loved it. I really did not find the heat that bad and I am from NY. We bought two water misters and a fan and did not even use them, we did however use the fan attached to the stroller for my son and he had the ray shade to keep him in the shade. We all enjoyed it and we gave him lots of water and juice and took breaks everyday so he was ok. I am looking forward to going back next year around the same time.
There was an entire day of rain and some showers while we wre there but we loved it because the parks were empty and we walked on all rides. We had a stroller rain cover with us and put it over the stroller and went out with our ponchos on. I guess if the hurricane was worse and the parks closed and we could not go out it would have been bad, but for us that was not the case.

I have gone in Late August with my son (now 10) in 01, 03, 04, 05, 06 and are booked for 07. We love that time of year as I do not have to take my son out of school to experience lighter crowds.

I will deal with heat and humidity any day over crowds. That being said, be smart and be prepared for that time of year. Take frequent breaks, drink LOTS of water, wear a hat, bring extra sun screen and remember it rains every afternoon (albeit briefly).

I thin most (not all) who experience difficulty that time of year just don't approach things right and try and do too much during the day. Our first trip, my son did get sick and we learned our lessons.

As for hurricanes, they are the exception in Central Florida, not the rule - I would not worry about them at all.

We went in Aug. '04. We were delayed by one day due to hurricane Charley, but it's extremely rare for hurricanes to affect central Florida. As for the humidity, we were prepared. We carried Misty Mates (see link below). They were great, you could even fill them with ice water. We also had at least one sit down meal a day so that we could get out of the hot sun and relax a while. Unless you're particularly sensitive to heat, it's very doable.
